Many people have been asking how to support us - and, I'm so grateful. 🙏 We feel the love in so many ways! All I really say is "please pray." ❤️‍🩹 However, I'm asking that if you feel moved to share this link from GiveSendGo, we would greatly appreciate it.

As most of you know, Brian has been in a skilled nursing facility for the past year, and unfortunately, the level of physical and occupational therapy is much less intense than a spinal cord rehab center.

And, just recently, the facility is choosing to withhold therapies unless we fund it ourselves. 💔 We are in a CONSTANT battle trying to get therapies. It's unbelievable. And private pay is astronomical in cost. This medical / insurance model needs an overhaul and compassion care. I digress.

And, Brian NEEDS more therapies, NOT less...or none. It affects his physical health like sleep (which he's been having issues with), CIRCULATION (think skin breakdown, wounds, swelling, rash, etc. - he's been experiencing these), and muscle strength and repair. Plus it strongly affects his mental health. If you've never been in a bed for 20 months, you may not be aware of all of these hurdles. It's heartbreaking to watch and be a part of.

I have been unable to work because my full time commitment is with my husband during this season. If I wasn't with him around the clock (me, family, friends, caregivers) overseeing his care, I'm not sure if Brian would still be here with us. Not trying to be morbid. It's just the reality.

🔅NINE9️⃣ out of the TEN🔟 people that the neurosurgeon did this specific surgery on have passed away...Brian is the only ONE1️⃣ that is still living. Wow, those are some interesting stats. We found this out 2 months ago. That's a miracle in itself.

With that said, I only mention this because there's so much that goes into this spinal cord injury situation, and if you can share this link, we'd be so grateful for any support.

And, if you pray, please pray for Yahweh's LOVE to flood Brian's heart, a peace for Brian that surpasses all understanding, and for him to receive the full healing that belongs to him because Yeshua died on the cross for our sins and free us from captivity. Thank you!💚❤️💚

Brian update 12.9.25 - last night was the first time in 3 weeks that we got Brian into the wheelchair. Few things inhibited him from getting in the chair, but we made a point yesterday to get him UP and OUT of the room.

I coordinated with the worship team from our church at Family Life Christian Center and church family to *surprise* Brian with a worship night + Christmas caroling. 🎄🎶 It ended w/us laying hands on Brian and praying for him (and they prayed for me too). We declared Brian IS healed, in Jesus' Mighty and Victorious Name!🙏

It was SO uplifting and POWERFUL. They all came here for Brian.🥰 One of the main things I've / we've been doing in Brian's room almost every evening is WORSHIPPING, PRAISING Yeshua and THANKING God that Brian IS already 💯 fully restored, walking, and off the ventilator. Because it's already done - Jesus did it 2000 years ago...we're just waiting to see it happen in the natural realm.

From the lyrics of Tasha Layton Worship Through It - THIS is what I'm choosing:
"I know my God can do it
So, I'm gonna worship through it
Before I see my breakthrough
I'm gonna choose to praise you
I will sing hallelujah to the one
Who can do what the world says can't be done
I know my God can do it"

And, I believe He WILL do it, Praise Our Lord Jesus. ♥️

Brian update 12.6.25 - let's just say this trial is wearing on us. Spinal cord injury is horrific. Daily caregiving and managing household affairs is exhausting to the core.

I try to be positive in my posts, but our days are far from rainbows and lollipops. Brian and I need to keep uplifting things in our midst. Especially God's Word. That's #1. Though, it's always nice to have visitors like this too. 🎻🎄Thank you, Kay Morrisroe, for gifting us with Jennifer Silk Vombrack's beautiful musical talent on violin and harp playing some Christmas music ! 🙏🎄

Brian hasn't been in the wheelchair for 3 weeks due to an awful rash on his backside, and he's been 100% bedridden for that long.

Facility canceled his physical therapies as of last week, so that has been awful, and he hasn't been sleeping much. He's been so miserable and sad.

So, naturally, it all affects me also since I'm with him 15-18 hours per day. And I pulled my back something fierce yesterday. I'm really trying to feed my faith because Jesus is all I have.

But, God is still working - Brian and I will be stronger coming out of this. Thanks for all of your ongoing support.

Brian update 10.18.25 - Trying to keep it light at night - 🕺rocking out to our 90's jams... this one is 🎵Republica "Ready to Go." Oh yes, Yeshua is getting us ready to go...to get up and out as soon as Brian's off the ventilator (and, I know Bri is SO ready to go home!)...not sure when, but He is prepping us and doing it by having FUN! 😁 We have this game we sometimes play at night since I sleep overnight at the Skilled Nursing Facility every day - one of us chooses a song, and then the other one chooses the next song that the current song reminds them of.

Brian update 9.16.25 - this is a big one...Brian is high-fiving! 🖐💪 He said even if we move the target, he can move his arm to wherever we put our hands (within reason, of course). All credit goes to Jesus for allowing this to happen!
"By Jesus' stripes, we WERE healed" - Isaiah 53:5 - we're just watching it happen in the natural realm. He is making great progress weaning off the vent too.
Video cred goes to our Polish respiratory therapist who was SO excited to see Brian do this that she teared up!
**For anyone who understands Polish, she had Brian and I say something that she finds hilarious that I even knew how to say (thanks to my cousin, Monika - I learned when I was in Poland 😆) - I said it one day out of the blue to her and she laughed so hard, so she wanted Bri and I to say it! It loosely translates to "heck yeah" in a Polish slang. The staff was so excited, and they cheered in 4 different languages in his room - Polish, English, Filipino (tagalog), and Spanish. Go Brian, and PRAISE YESHUA!

Brian update 9/2/25 - One of Brian's high school friends, Randy Micheletti, is in a five-piece brass band 🎺and coordinated with his colleagues to come perform for Brian (and us!) - what a blessing! They were ✨️awesome✨️! It was also for all of the patients and their families on the ventilator floor to enjoy. The genuine hearts of so many people have shone so brightly through this crazy trial - thank you for sticking with us everyone.

Brian update 8.8.25 - the next 🚶‍♂️MOVING part! He hasn't done THIS YET in bed, so to move his legs this much🦵 is A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT! 🤩 A few of the therapists *really* work him out and he's continuing to make great improvements, praise Jesus! Praying and praising that the progress continues to speed up. 💪🏋‍♂️🚴‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Brian update 7.27.25 - weaning is going pretty well. He IS still lowering settings on the vent leading him to breathe 100% on his own. Low settings tire him out quickly at times as he's "exercising" his diaphragm / respiratory system A LOT.
Getting closer to trying more aggressive weaning therapies. 🙏 Left arm is less stiff, and the PT & massage therapist said this is a BIG win! Most importantly, he is growing in his faith walk with Jesus, and it's a beautiful thing to encounter. This trial is extremely tiring for both of us, and I can only thank God for helping me coordinate everything because there's so much on my plate right now - I don't even know how I get through these days sometimes! Brian is already healed, in Jesus' name...we're just watching the healing come to fruition. Praise Yeshua! Thank you for your ongoing support. 💕

Our friend, Kay Morrisroe, owner of HospitaliTea at State Street Market Shops in Elgin approached us to host a beautiful 🫖 HIGH TEA PARTY🫖 Fundraiser in Downtown St. Charles, IL on Sunday, 9.14.25 (1pm - 4pm) for Brian as he's still in a Skilled Nursing Facility, and hasn't been home in 15 months. 😩(Sigh)

He's still in need of many therapies, caregiving, and medical equipment after a high level spinal cord injury that he sustained after falling from a ladder on 4.10.24, resulting in him being mostly bedridden and on a ventilator.

Kay was so sweet to let us know that she's been praying, and felt moved to help Brian through an elegant and fun TEA PARTY! ☕️🫖

Brian update 7.10.25 - weaning, baptism, setbacks ... and, progress. Be speaking w/ a few medical practitioners & they mentioned that many people with the level of injury that Brian sustained (C1 + C2 cervical spine injury) perish due to the location of the injury. 😮 We're learning just how much more Jesus truly saved Brian's life. Praise God, Brian is making so much progress considering the injury site. It's just a miracle that he's 1️⃣still with us 2️⃣100% cognitive abilities in tact 3️⃣weaning from the ventilator ... and SO many more blessings. This is NOT without hundreds of challenges, but God IS faithful and Brian's health will be restored because of God's Promise. We're still on this rollercoaster, and it's tiresome (especially for me and Brian). Grateful to those who are helping us get through this in all ways, especially staying with him while I'm not there (I'm there 15-17 hrs/day).
