After a hugely informative and validating conversation with a brilliant English psychologist and personal trainer who has been integrating fitness training into his steady emdr and psychoanalytic clients treathemt, I decided to jog down to the park for a little experiment on myself.
Long exciting day full of ups and downs and so much potential and things to accomplish that there wasn’t much time for processing.
I was thinking about what the doc had said about our brains needing to process emotional memory in different ways and how emdr therapy was invented out of a trail hiking exoerience!
So I set off to process my day the way I usually do... with a jog and a box. Only this time I paid attention to my active and inactive mind as it flowed from thought to thought until it got to the place where it was still for a moment. I wondered how much more potential neuron firing action was occurring in my mind with each strike and each thought and memory I was watching at the moment.
Could rapid eye movement or tapping be replaced by boxing hands going back and forth?

Ok geeking out time over. Time to jog home and get the much needed REM sleep for the rest of the process.
Any social worky or therapist or fitness friends have any thoughts?

Also, there may or may not be a Pop-up kickboxing workout tomorrow night right here in this very spot live...but not for children! (Unless youre my friends who raise their kids on Eminem, then you have to come).
