Does the current weather make you feel tired, lethargic with body aches and pains?
Do you feel hot due to humidity and cold under the air conditioner?
Do you feel feverish and yet there's no change in body temperature when you check it? High levels of humidity lead to fatigue and tiredness. And one superfood from the nature that;s commonly found in your kitchen and can salvage you from feeling grumpy is 'GINGER". I always reiterate that one should align with nature as much as possible. Nature gives you everything that you need for every season. Fresh raw ginger is available these days. Add it your vegetables while cooking, or simply pickle it with rock salt and lemon, the way i do. Start having probiotic as a zingy condiment with your meals and feel the aches going away. Pain is inflammation and ginger happens to be a powerful anti-inflammatory agent that also had additional benefits like improving digestion, reducing cholestrol and preventing nausea.
Not to forget, it's extremely beneficial if you catch the flu during changing season or have stubborn and recurrent cold and cough.
A bowl like this gets over in 3 days in my home, as it happens to be my favorite spice. It’s weekend time, go grocery shopping and pick up fresh ginger.

SUMMER BAELLE BAELLE!! The best way to enjoy summers is to fix your electrolyte levels.
Electrolyte imbalance, often brought about by excessive perspiration, frequent urination or dehydration, is an unknown cause for those unnerving throbbing headaches, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, dizziness & lethargy.
Bael is commonly called as Bengal quince, wood apple, golden apple, elephant apple, bilwa, monkey fruit & stone apple.Bel ka Sharbat is one of the best thirst quenchers for the summer season. Wood apple juice is antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial in nature.
It not only keeps your body hydrated, but it also protects you from heat strokes. While you may have seen roadside vendors selling a mixie-churned version, the best way to have it is the traditional way. Forget the cold pressed juicers, and just use your hands and a strainer/sieve to get the benefit of both soluble & insoluble fibers of this Summer superfood. I season it with ice, roasted cumin and black salt.
Being extremely alkaline in nature, Bael is an antidote to health issues related to acid build up in the stomach, and has shown beneficial results in diseases like peptic ulcer, hyperacidity, piles and dysentry. It is also an elixir for skin issues like urticaria, heat rash, vitiligo & hives.

It is these properties that make Bel fruit and leaves a favorite of Lord Mahashiva.

EKADASHI MEALS!! It is NOT difficult to manage MINDFULEATING even while fasting and ensure a healtht balanced food plate. On my plate you see:
Quinoa Aloo Tikki(has grated carrot)
Roasted peanuts
Diced Cucumber
Green chutney
Grated Amla with organic Jaggery
AMLA because today is Amalaki Ekadashi & Amla is the fruit to be worshipped, served to Lord Vishnu & to be taken as prashad.
Holi time also marks the end of Amla season..so make sure you have them when rhey return in October now.
Amla with Jaggery tasted a yummy sweet-sour combo. One can mux Amla with Mishri as well… which is a potent pitta pacifying ayurvedic combo! .
