Hey Mamas!

Here to reintroduce myself - I’m Timberley, wife, stay at home working + homeschooling mom of 3! 2x published author ✍🏽 - one of which I dedicated to my postpartum journey (Pushing Past Postpartum, available on Amazon) in hopes that I can support other mommies through their own experiences. I am a Postpartum Doula, figuring out how to best serve my mamas and their little ones while keeping the peace and balance with my own 😊. I love this stuff. Motherhood is my ministry hands down!

I wanted to create a space (Motherhood Wellness Hub) where I can share resources from the random to the necessary. I get a lot of questions about so many things and I simply want to provide the answers to the masses! I also want to learn and understand more as I g(r)o(w) through this.

I’m asked all the time “how do you..” and I honestly respond with it’s “trial and error and doing what works for me & mine.” Which is what I want all moms to grasp. Advice, tips, and guidance is all great but ultimately, the decision is YOURS. What makes your home balanced? What keeps your mind at peace? Having community (and God) definitely makes Motherhood way better. So, take what you need Mama!

With all that being said, I invite you to participate in this. If there is a specific topic you want to discuss, drop it in the comments. If you need options for schools, pediatricians, doctors, dentists, etc drop it in the comments. The goal for this Motherhood Wellness Hub is to share our resources so, Mommies no longer feel alone!

We are literally in this together! We are your village!

Hey Mama!

I know this seems like a lot, but let’s do this together.

When we think of motherhood it seems like there is so much to do. The list goes on & on.

Well that’s why you have me! I’m everyone’s Doula. I like to think that over the course of these 7 years of being a mother, I’ve learned a thing or three about what it takes to have an effective and healthy postpartum journey. Because let’s face it, I don’t think your postpartum journey technically ever ends, but I would like to support, empower, and uplift you with resources and little tips that can ease your mind when transitioning into motherhood.

🩷 Doulas are amazing! Birthing and Postpartum doulas are an essential part of motherhood. There is a personal connection between Doulas and their moms that provides a sense of protection and safety. I look forward to the day when insurance providers will guarantee coverage of all Doula services. (I know it’s in the works).

🩷 Secure your ✋🏽 (5) is setting up a list of dependable and reliable friends/family that will step up and lend you their hands to take the load off you. Believe me when I say, you want these 5 to know their roles without reminding them. You’ll want someone that comes to clean your home, watch your baby while you shower and/or nap, cook/meal prep, wash and put up the laundry, and someone you can vent to. Having this will make your postpartum journey so much better. Not having to constantly ask for this help is a life saver. The 5 people you choose will know when to show up and how to show up.

🩷 Maternal Mental Health Therapist is a Godsend. If for nothing else than to have someone listen to you so you can dump how you’re feeling - get a MMH Therapist. I know United Healthcare covers up to 6 or 7 sessions and Medicaid (in Ga) covers therapy services as well.

🩷 Trust yourself, mama. You really do want the best for yourself and your baby. It can get foggy when trying to figure it out on your own. Which is why I will always remind you that you are not alone! You are the best mom for the job.

What did Postpartum anxiety and depression look like for you?
In this picture, I was at a photo shoot for my baby and I was excited and so proud of her little self. And on the flip, I was extremely anxious, sad about any and every little thing, and so lonely in motherhood. No one knew just how dark the world looked and felt to me. It was starting to become normal Until my bestest momfriend said she was going through similar anxieties and depressive feelings & thoughts and that’s when a light came on. It was faint and dim but, just enough to pull me through.

Which brings me to you! Mama, you are not alone. You are not crazy. What you feel is valid. But, it’s not you permanent place. We can overcome. There is light at the end of tunnel and guess what?? You’re not in that tunnel alone.

If you don’t know how to ask for help, it’s okay. I didn’t know how either. But, we can learn and I can help you, mom.

Write the vision, make it plain.

I hope you take everything to God.
Wait for His response.
Execute.
Repeat.

It’s all about more this month for me.
More time in God’s word and prayer.
More peace of mind.
More time spent with MomFriends.
More growth in business.
More healthy choices.
More favor. More love. More laughter. More opportunities. More financial abundance. More hugs. More adventures. More memories. More rest. More self care. More savings.

DID YOU KNOW?

Postpartum psychosis is a rare condition. Experts estimate that it affects between 0.089 and 2.6 out of every 1,000 births. In the United States, that means it happens in between 320 and 9,400 births each year.

Some symptoms:
🧠 Delusions or strange beliefs
🧠 Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t there)
🧠 Feeling very irritated
🧠 Hyperactivity
🧠 Severe depression or flat affect
🧠 Decreased need for or inability to sleep
Paranoia and suspiciousness
Rapid mood swings
Difficulty communicating at times

Listen, I know it’s scary but we have to share this information. It’s the only way to ensure we are doing our parts. As a mom, I want to make sure that I am constantly educating myself and those around me. It’s one thing to say I want to help but, it’s another when I’m actually apart of the solution.

If you are mom dealing with any of these symptoms, please ask for help. If you’re not sure how, DM me. I have resources I can share with you or at least get you to the person who can.

You are not alone mama. You have a village

Let’s talk about it! It’s Maternal Mental Health Day and the start of Maternal Mental Health Month! (And also my birthday month lol)

Whew!! I have a mouth full to share! We need to get into the 🧠 Why it’s important?
🧠 What does it look like?
🧠 How to ask for help?
🧠 When to speak up?

It’s so much that comes with motherhood. It’s not it just about labor and delivery. It’s beyond that. It’s so much bigger than that. I’m thankful the conversations are happening but, I also want to make sure it’s Real. Raw. Authentic. With some action behind it.

I’m here for you, mama. I will help you. You’ve got a friend in me.
