While Joe offers a variety of performance coaching and executive training, "5 with Joe" is his flagship program - a 5 week intensive that teaches a framework to improve habits, make empowered choices, stimulate creativity, and increase performance. This is:

The framework I use to move out of the short game and over to the long game. The framework that anchors my life, growth, and relationships. T

he framework I share with all kinds of clients - school teachers, entrepreneurs, business owners, and CEOs - women and men who are looking to shake up their routine and change patterns that are not working for them. Simply said, the framework that charges the battery. The concepts and strategies I share are more than just words - they are the concepts and strategies I used to:

Along with my canoe partner, Scott Strausbaugh, win America's first ever Olympic Gold Medal in Whitewater Canoe Slalom at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. To get unstuck and healthy again after a low point during my time as CEO for Olympic and Paralympic sport.

The Olympic Dream…

Mine? It was hard to imagine without a sense of place.

Once I came to La Seu d’Urgell for the first time in 1991, the spirit of the people and culture of the country anchored a clear vision for what was possible.

For many years, I’ve called La Seu home… which today makes the 60 second walk to the Parc del Segre as frequent as it is simple - where I get to watch a new generation of athletes bring their own Olympic dreams into focus…

Which for the next three years is now anchored to Oklahoma City, an unexpected but beautiful choice for the Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross events at the 2028 Olympic Games.🇺🇸

The line between my current home and past home stands to deliver some rich connection in both directions over the next few years… and hopefully shorten that line in the process.

I may not completely understand dropping off the ramp in La Seu the way Olympians like Manu Ochoa and David Llorente do…

But that splash upon landing? From this past week forward, there is a clear vision of the excitement and legacy that these athletes and Oklahomans are going to create together.

Enhorabona OKC! 🙌🏼

How NOT To Win An Olympic Gold Medal…

Over the past 32 years, I’ve brought a unique perspective into many conversations about the thin lines that differentiates success at the Olympics…

And how to rethink and reposition these lines to better serve our focus, performance, and satisfaction towards our most meaningful pursuits - in business, health, and relationships.

One of my best insights from these conversations is helping to reset what kind of mindset is really needed show up as the best version of ourselves in the situations that matter most.

It’s Planting Season

One of my favorite sports physiologists says, “Big trees grow slowly.”

And the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago.

The envy-factor kicks in when you come across someone just like you, who is accomplished at a skill or is fulfilled in their dream job or the place they choose to live their life.

It’s human to wish we had started to learn a skill in our youth, or a decade ago, even five years or one year ago.
