🚨 FEDERAL PBM REFORM BREAKING NEWS — NOW LAW 🚨

This is a big win for our patients.

After years of advocacy by Brashear’s Pharmacy, independent pharmacies nationwide, and thousands of patients who spoke up, federal PBM reform has officially been signed into law. For the first time in nearly 20 years, Medicare Part D rules are changing to better protect patient access to care.

🚨 Medicare Part D BREAKING NEWS 🚨

After years of hard work by Brashear’s Pharmacy, countless independent pharmacies, and patient advocates across the country, the U.S. House of Representatives has just passed the first meaningful Medicare Part D reform in nearly 20 years.

In a 341–88 bipartisan vote, the U.S. House approved a spending bill that includes critical protections for pharmacies and patients. The bill requires CMS to create reasonable and relevant contract terms under Medicare Part D and establishes a way for pharmacies to report unfair contract violations.

“These PBM reforms — the first major Medicare Part D reforms in nearly 20 years — are long overdue,” said Anne Cassity of the National Community Pharmacists Association. “We need to get this through the Senate and to the president’s desk so independent pharmacies and the patients they treat can finally get relief from PBM manipulations.”

This is a huge step forward for local pharmacies and the patients we serve right here in our community.

Now it’s time to keep the momentum going — on to the Senate and the President’s desk!

Flu update:

We are still receiving calls daily asking about flu vaccine availability. Influenza has been very active this season locally.

We are out of high-dose flu vaccine (the senior shot) but regular dose flu vaccine is still available.

If you're wanting a flu vaccine still this year you don't need an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome.

It happens like this. You have not been feeling like yourself lately. Maybe you’re having shortness of breath when walking the golf course lately. Perhaps you have started getting migraines. Maybe it is past time to get your blood pressure checked out. You make an appointment with a medical office and a physician diagnoses you with high blood pressure and gives you a prescription for medicine. Now you need to choose a pharmacy in Citrus County. It seems like a simple choice but there are lots of options and choosing the right pharmacy provides you with convenience, value, and additional services that improve your health.

CONVENIENCE

When choosing a pharmacy in Citrus County, most patients tell us that a pharmacy that provides convenience is the most important thing. Convenience often means different things to different people.
