Y’all! It's still my birthday for less than one hour and I wanted to share two fundraisers that are close to my heart.
The first is in honor of my Dad who came to the US from Nigeria and earned his PhD at U-M along with a handful of Master's degrees. As some of you know, he peacefully transitioned to the next adventure with the Divine just four days after his birthday on Monday, 7/31/23. He was with my Mom during that beautiful and freeing time. He had also seen his children and grandchildren ahead of his transition. Our family has been receiving a lot of love and support, for which I am grateful.
As my Dad used to say, "Eulogize me while I'm alive." My hope is that the ones we love and care for, are never in doubt about how we feel about them. We have started The Rev Dr Chibuzor Scholarship Fund, in his name, to support African and other international students when they come to the US for additional education. If you are so inclined, please contribute. Thank you to all who have already donated. Link in bio.
I'm also passionate about equal access to perinatal wellness for parents and babes, as such I'm the Board President of , a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that the period immediately following birth is healthy and happy for all who are involved.
🩵 Did you know that by supporting perinatal wellness we save $14B annually from preventing postpartum depression?
🩵 Did you know that by breastfeeding 823,000 infants lives are saved?
🩵 Did you know that 20,000 parents lives are already saved by breastfeeding?
🩵 Did you know that by having human milk accessible to babies 72% of infant hospital admissions are prevented?
Some of us are parents and some of us were able to nurse because we were supported, as a community, we are better when we take care of one another.
Thank you to all who have ever donated to any of my fundraisers.
