MAND members, please take action now if you have not yet done so! Please contact U.S. Senators Markey and Warren and urge them to do all they can to protect vital food and nutrition programs that are on the chopping block this week.

Action Alert - The time is now!

A major budget reconciliation bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday and now move to the U.S. Senate. Of the many federal funding cuts, the bill includes ~$300 million in cuts to SNAP. This comes after cuts to funding for farm-to-school and produce for food banks.

Please take a few minutes to urge your members of Congress to protect funding for SNAP, SNAP-Ed and other nutrition and public health programs.

MDEF and IDEA Scholarships for 2025 are now open! 🍏🍎

This year we will be offering three awards, each offering $1,500 in scholarship. Folks are welcome to apply to both the MDEF and IDEA scholarships.

-Parking and coffee/pastries provided
-500+ students expected to attend
-Minimum 2 RDs needed
-Please email Christine Sinclair at c.sinclair23@gmail.com if you are interested
-Travel reimbursement provided

Worcester State University, Saturday, April 12, 2025 10 am - 12 pm
-Parking and lunch provided
-2-3 RDs needed for either of the following. Dietetic students also welcomed:
Hands-on activity for demos on food labels, food models, conducting a nutrition focused physical exam
Other ideas for engaging students are welcomed by the RD. Please feel free to be creative.
