On this day devoted to new life, resurrection, and redemption, it’s sometimes a challenge to remember there are still people in darkness, waiting for the light. Please consider a
Donation to the Healing Hands Foundation, or a purchase from doterra that supports their mission of freeing people from the bonds of human trafficking all across the globe. Contact me for details on how you can help.
Freedom Now Africa (FNA), along with local government agencies and Kenyan police, conducted an anti-human trafficking operation in one of the slums in Nairobi, resulting in the rescue of 14 underage Ugandan females who were trafficked into Kenya for labor exploitation.
However, the closer they looked, the more they suspected that this was just the tip of the iceberg. FNA saw a strong indication that the women were possibly trafficked from Kenya into Somalia.
FNA reached out to the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation®, who quickly provided funding for the investigation. “This support made it possible for everything to come together,” Chris Gay, president of FNA, explained. “doTERRA allowed for a thorough eight-month investigation of the network and how it operates, from top to bottom.”
On January 12, 2020, FNA personnel, law enforcement officers from two countries, anti-human trafficking and child protection units, and INTERPOL conducted Operation Black Mamba. The operation resulted in rescue of 96 female trafficking victims. It was the largest and most successful anti-trafficking rescue operation ever conducted by FNA and its partners in East Africa. The success of Operation Black Mamba surpassed everyone’s expectations. Nine of the rescued victims are providing invaluable eye-witness accounts to help further investigations.
Amazingly, every single survivor received aftercare following the rescue. The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation helped fund aftercare for the rescued children. “We used that donation to its fullest all along the way,” Chris Gay stated. “In my wildest dreams, I did not think this would go from 14 girls rescued in Kenya to nearly a hundred,” he continued. “We would not have been able to do this without the support of doTERRA.”
