When I say to live well, what I mean is to eat well, sleep well, and train well — these are the stepping stones and the proper infrastructure to have under ‘your control’ and placed in order to get the best our of your ‘day-light time’ — the moments that matter.

Remember what a stewardess says on an airplane;

Whatever you are doing in regards to Health, Fitness, and Wellness — if it’s not making you become a faster runner, you can NOT call it functional.

If you cannot run due to pain, you need to fix that ASAP — if you don’t know how to run properly, you need to fix that as well (possibly the reason why you are feeling pain is poor mechanics while you run 💡) — the only reason you don’t like running is because your system is not operating properly, that’s it.

Get your system operating like it is supposed to and you will not sit back — you will only want to be active — since your body doesn’t sense any aches or pains it will feel free to do as it pleases and that’s actually a really nice and happy feeling 😊

There isn’t one food that will make you healthy and there isn’t one food that will make you unhealthy — the state our “body” is in will decide if we are healthy or not.

Most foods today are not made for humans to become healthy, sadly they are created to keep us hooked on buying them — the marketing + ingredients have us blindly falling into their laps.

Start focusing on the functionality of your foods and you will begin to comprehend how powerful our choices really are & the influence they have on our lives!

When the body receives the right type of “exertion” by moving how it should than the body will also rest as it should — get your body moving properly and you will rest properly — and being that your body operates in conjunction with your brain — you will begin to search for real nourishment because the vessel will want what is meant to receive — this is the fix our society needs, forget the abuse, forget the instant gratifications, forget the “crumbling” aspect we all witness & experience — we will tap into a world of builders (only moving forward with progressions)

I see this day in and day out — people are so focused on how a body looks that they become so overly focused on the end result rather than the habits & patterns their actions bring them — we can all understand that our actions have reactions and until we can captivate that we’re living in a society that breeds conformists is the sooner we can get out of this “unhappiness” that most call their reality.

I’m very positive that if we all started to move better, we would eat better & we would also sleep better — they all go hand in hand!

The contrary being that if you lack sleep, you are certainly lacking energy which leads to an even poorer diet which only leads you into a sh*tty movement scenario — I call these the crumbling habits (which are mostly tied to instant gratifications)

We have all been conditioned to live a certain way by family, friends, schools, communities, the society, etc — break free with these pre existing conditions because a majority of them are creating conforming human beings (otherwise we would have a lot of Michael Jordan’s, Tom Brady’s, Roger Federer’s, Michael Schumacher’, Ronaldo’s, Tiger Woods, etc)

— so focusing on calories to an extent is almost pointless, you can eat empty calories and not receive any nutrient density what so ever — which in turn allows you to over eat (does that make sense to you?)

Over eating in search of nutrition from something that has no charge (pointless) & there we have it — an epidemic 😅

Where you see fitness I see a discipline. Where you see hard work I see commitment. Where you see boring I see fun. Where you see tiredness I see energy. Where you see why I see why not. Where you see repetition I see mastery. Where you see injuries I see prevention. Where you see cockiness I see confidence. Where you see limits I see limitless.

What you see is what I see but from a different point of view — life is just that, two angles!

You either build or crumble — you either see optimism or pessimism — you can see positivity or negativity — the choice is yours!

However, whatever you decide is true, you are correct my friend!

Your perspective will decide your perception & your perception will dictate your behavior patterns — be mindful where you get your information from, because if you decide to make the right decision, the safe decision, the one most people make, you will be the same as everyone else — be original & decide for yourself!

😋 feeling vibrancy from that good good

•Food & instant gratification is impossible to escape & for good reason — it keeps us alive!

•The food we decide to eat will have a reaction within us, it’s the pleasure & reward center of our brains — without it we would starve ourselves to death just by being a human (since we rarely ever think 😅)

•We have auto-functions like breathing, digesting & walking — however think about how our body just digests whatever we eat & if the body doesn’t agree it will usually let us know with signs or symptoms (short term & long term)

•The body for sure cares what you put in your mouth but just by that fact that “we humans” are putting things in our mouths we are telling ourselves that what we are about to eat or drink is safe for us & ultimately going to help nurture us — so now think about eating something that is not nutrient dense & is just empty, no vibrancy of life, not life supporting what are we telling our systems & organisms???

•Yes! Most foods if not all food will give us a dopamine release, we just have to be conscious on how frequent we are with those “empty instant gratifications”

•In a perfect world we would get all the pleasure we need from eating the right foods & avoiding the wrong foods (which is possible) — and yes we can thank marketing for that, we can also thank the industry for that as well, since they have “designed” these foods to just explode our brains 🤯 with so many chemicals that directly influence our reward center at an unimaginable extent — we completely fall at the sight of a cookie, a chocolate bar, an ice cream, those fresh brownies — up to the point that when we see them we are already salivating at the mouth and actually releasing dopamine before even consuming it!

•Knowing this we can make better decisions, the more we consume the more we are creating a habit & a dependency — flip the script & start telling yourself NO 👎 & begin to create time in between eating those sugary processed foods — you will gain discipline, you will also stop having such a strong neural connection with those wild dopamine releases 😜 but yo have your cookies & ice cream from time to time — I did last night 😅

Running is the definition of freedom, go where you want, when you want, how you want — you can go fast, slow, far, quick, relaxed — you can clear your mind, you can release stress, you can focus on becoming better and you can do it anywhere-anytime for free 😊

I like to see running as a form of gratitude, a way of giving yourself time & energy & thanks for the ability to be active & stay active — sometimes you desire it, sometimes you don’t — however every time you finish you feel accomplished, you feel healthier & happier!

I haven’t met someone who runs on a regular basis with a negative mindset, nor are they pessimistic, they tend to live a fulfilling life — they tend to be a happier radiant individual : it leads me to believe that it is the single most divine activity we can do for ourselves (so natural, like 3 year old playing)

Just think about the people who hate running, they tend to hate hard work, who hate making sacrifices — they seem to always critic & question how someone could like running — and yes it’s the complete opposite for runners, who tend to be so uplifting, they can’t understand how people “who don’t run, who haven’t ran before, can hate something so empowering even without ever trying”

Every human has the ability to feel the power of running — maybe you just need a software update 😜

Fruit fasting in the morning & Papaya wins the 🏆 without a doubt!

•Contains one of the best digestive enzymes out there, so if your stomach is in a funk and you wish to regulate your digestive system then Id suggest doing this;

• Wake up & drink some water for the first hour of your morning (nothing else)

•Then I would eat some fresh papaya (only)

*Trying to not complicate the digestive track with a load of ingredients; digestive enzymes can confuse one another & therefore that smoothness you are looking for will not be obtained 😅

*The longer you do this flow, the better your stomach can “heal” itself from let’s say your typical “American style breakfast” — eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, tomato, coffee, orange juice, toast, pancakes, waffles,
croissant, butter, maple syrup, etc 😜

(What we eat will have a direct influence on how we feel, how we live, how we think, how we function — it’s all about the gut x brain axis y’all — if you want to know more than check our how the stomach is our 2nd brain of the body 😁)

3 continents, 6 countries, way too many cities & clubs to count — to a random back surgery that left me bed ridden for months — to the loss of a functioning leg — to 20+ months of therapy / rehabilitation — to a career end, being told I would never be able to run again 😏

3 1/2 years post operation I am finally able to play the sport that I love so much, the sport that taught me so much, the sport that has taken me around the globe trotting, taught me diversity, learned new cultures & life lessons, allowed me to gain a skill set, gathering a pleather some of knowledge in the wellness industry — a blessing to say the least.

I am blessed to able to step on the field once again, it may not be professional and that’s okay 😊 I am just utterly grateful that I get this opportunity to do what I have always done, play some good soccer with some great people, enjoying the sport, enjoying gods gift to me!

Acts of gratitude can go a long way, I also want to recap on the strength of consistency, determination, hard work, belief, grit, and all that good stuff that goes into making anything possible.

After hearing the neurosurgeon tell me that I may never run again & that I should focus on walking first was extremely humbling, I was also stubborn & proud af in the sense that I was not going to let the odds get the better of me! Deep down I knew I was going to give everything I had to make the best of my situation, whatever the outcome was going to be, so next time you feel like your tunnel is closing in on you, where it’s hard to see the light coming through, close your eyes, trust your gut instinct & give it your all — if it’s 1% give the best 1% you have and just keep doing that relentlessly— I can assure you that if you stick to it you can achieve anything you ever want in this world!

I am living proof and I am extremely happy to be able to share this hell of experience with you — it will get harder before it gets easier, and things don’t get easier, you become more resilient to what life throws at you — it all starts with how you think & speak to yourself!
