Today we celebrate and honor the incredible service of Rick Ross, a dedicated substance abuse counselor, who is retiring after years of unwavering commitment to the recovery community. Since January 2008, Rick has been a guiding light for countless individuals navigating the path from addiction to healing.
Despite being legally blind, Rick never let anything stand in the way of his mission. With his loyal dog, Leon, by his side, Rick showed up every day with compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the recovery journey—because he lived it himself.
One of Rick’s last quotes on our website captures his spirit perfectly:
"Being given the opportunity to provide direction and encouragement to people who suffer the pangs of addiction is something that I enjoy tremendously... Looking at the whole client is an organizational goal as well as an individual one that allows us to help clients with all aspects of their recovery, not just the substance abuse part.”
Rick’s legacy at My Father’s House is one of resilience, empathy, and purpose. His work has not only changed lives—it has inspired all of us.
Thank you, Rick, for everything. You will always be part of our family. 💙
