Being invited to speak at the Planet Word Museum () in Washington D.C. about the work I do with my business .fit.fabulous was an exhilarating opportunity and a milestone I’ll always cherish. I am blessed to do what I love and continue growing and networking with people doing inspiring work. I love using the gift of my voice to continue advocating and encouraging listeners to live their best lives and to keep hope alive. It’s in the everyday practices that we may find miracles. Glad to be on this journey.

Meet Fajr Malika DeLane this Friday!

Fajr, a Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholar, is a proud Athenian with deep roots in the community. As a 2016 graduate of Clarke Central High School, she went on to the prestigious Howard University to major in International Business with a concentration in Finance, then later earned her Masters in Public Health, specializing in Health Management and Policy from Georgia State University. Fajr is the founder of F to the Third Power: .fit.fabulous !, a health and wellness program initiative for young girls. Fajr is passionate about using her expertise in business development to build creative programming and drive social and community advocacy, and she currently serves at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens and is the program coordinator for their Youth Force Initiative. Her global leadership skills were shaped by her extensive domestic and international travel as a youth, where she learned the importance of good character, humility, and cultural exchange.

I had the recent honor of and privilege of serving as an American Delegate for the 2024 Y7 (Youth G7) Summit hosted in Rome, Italy. For five months my team gathered information, researched, and reviewed survey data that impacted our youth the most. We developed policy to include equity and inclusion for marginalized communities of which I am very proud. I was able to bring my personal and educational experience in Public Health, Health Management and Policy to the world international stage. The hardest challenge to overcome in advocating opportunities for marginalized communities is ensuring stakeholders that it is more economical to invest resources in preparing youth, rather than repairing them. Although we were met with some resistance, I am proud to say our Y7 delegate policy proposals recommendations were heard and ultimately passed! Sending my deepest gratitude to my Y7 (Youth G7) delegate team who showed up and showed out! Thank you to everyone who helped put the Y7 Summit together. Thank you to our sponsor , thank you , thank you to the team, and the USA Embassy in Italy.

Together, I truly know, we can be the change we seek with clear commitment, advocacy, and leadership!

Oh how the tassels have turned — Mastered It🎓
Wow I just finished my last final of grad school, this journey has been unimaginably a dynamic one, filled with long nights, weekend studies and pushing myself with endurance. The amount of growth I have had over this journey has been impeccable. When I started this journey I wasn’t sure where it was gonna lead but I was just following my heart. I am so happy I listened. To family, loved ones and friends thank you for your unwavering support along this journey, means so much to me. I am so honored and proud to say that I am the first graduate of getting a grad school degree out of my immediate family. I hope to encourage my family, community and people in general that you can challenge yourself, step into new territory and grow. I am so grateful to be here in this moment. A huge thank you to Allah for creating me and being there throughout this journey, I am so grateful for this journey of life you have me on. To my parents thanks for birthing me into this world, I appreciate your support and love. To the Gates Millennium Foundation thank you for funding my education. To you all, thank you.
