UNC Children’s Primary and Specialty Care at Carolina Pointe II Our pediatric primary care clinic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, offers prompt, friendly and comprehensive care for children from birth to age 23.

Pediatric Care
We provide high-quality p

rimary care to children and adolescents, and we welcome all children, including those with complex medical needs. We are committed to delivering excellent and equitable care for all children in our region regardless of ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic background or ability to pay. Pediatric services include:
•Well care
•Sick visits
•Follow-up for chronic conditions, such as diabetes

Adolescent Care

Our office welcomes adolescent patients aged 10 to 23. Several of our healthcare professionals are board certified adolescent medicine specialists and can offer focused care for patients in this dynamic stage of life. Adolescent medicine services include:
•Nutrition counseling and weight management
•Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) evaluation and treatment
•Mental health services, including treatment for anxiety and depression
•Gynecologic care
•Contraceptive management, including Nexplanon (implantable birth control) placement
•Diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
•Support when transitioning from a pediatric to an adult primary care provider

Lactation Support
All lactation consultants in our clinic are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). Our lactation consultants see infants attending routine well-baby visits for general breastfeeding support. They also provide consultations for infants experiencing breastfeeding challenges, such as difficult latch, poor weight gain and other concerns. Our goals are to help families and babies have rewarding and successful breastfeeding experiences and to promote confidence in nursing. Lactation services include:

•Breastfeeding consultations
•Education on a variety of nursing techniques and positions
•Back-to-work support
