Treating and counselling people of all walks of life, I felt the urge to know and help people in many other ways where the medicines and any type of counselling did not help( karmic diseases and psychological illness) . And hence in my thirst to touch deeper layers of self and others, I have started learning Vedic Astrology. Glad to announce that now I am a student of this vast vedaang knowledge of Rishis. So proud to study Astrology under the guidance of the master himself Pandit Sanjay Rath, my Astrology Guru of the Rishi Parampara. 🙏

Education in the true sense is helping the individual to be mature and free, to flower greatly in love and goodness. That is what we should be interested in, and not in shaping the child according to some idealistic pattern. --J.krishnamurti

ORGANISED SPORTS VS FREE PLAY IN CHILDREN: ARE WE OVER-SCHEDULING OUR KIDS TO KEEP THEM BUSY?

These days, it feels like organized sports have completely taken over kids' playtime. Believe it or not, even three and four-year-olds are gearing up for team practices. From fancy equipment to expensive uniforms, parents are going all out to give their little athletes a competitive edge. What used to be a once-a-week, laid-back activity has turned into a hectic schedule of three or four practices and games for elementary-aged children. This level of commitment was once reserved for older, more prepared middle-school kids.

And it's not just about one sport anymore. Kids are now juggling multiple sports, shuttling between siblings' activities, lessons, and clubs. What's the deal with this sudden intensity? Are we trying to keep kids super busy? What happened to letting them have unstructured fun? And shouldn't we be teaching them about balance in life? With organized sports becoming a non-negotiable part of our children's lives, we seem to have forgotten a crucial principle: sports should complement, not take over, a child's developmental journey.

The focus on organized sports has sidelined a crucial part of healthy growth— active free play. Instead of being the main dish, sports should be the extra flavor on the cake when it comes to creating an environment for kids to thrive. When children make up their own games outdoors, without adults jumping in, their sports experience becomes richer on many levels.

Kids experience nature in lots of different ways. It could be a baby cow, a pet that lives and dies, a path through the woods or a fort hidden in stinging plants. No matter how it shows up, nature shows each kid a big, older world that's different from their parents' world.
Unlike watching TV, being in nature doesn't take away time; it makes time better and longer. For a kid in a tough family or neighborhood, nature is like a comforting friend that helps them feel better. It's a place where a kid can draw and think about the stories they see in the world around them. Nature makes a kid be creative by making them use their imagination and all their senses.
If given the chance, a kid will take all the confusing things in the world to the woods, clean them in a creek, and turn them over to see what's on the other side. Nature might be scary sometimes, but that fear is helpful. In nature, a kid finds freedom, imagination, and a private space away from the adult world—a peaceful spot just for them.
Those are some of the helpful things about nature, but there's something even more special. On a deeper level, the mysterious side of nature makes kids feel humble.
