Strength training after 50 doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. 💪
If you’re navigating menopause or post-menopause, changes in energy, muscle tone, and joint comfort are common, but building strength is still absolutely possible.
The key? Training smarter, not harder.
And it starts with tempo. Moving with control to protect joints and build strength safely.
Retirement isn’t always the endless vacation we imagine—and that can come as a surprise.
In our newest podcast episode, I sit down with Dr. Riley Moynes to talk about the 4 phases of retirement and the emotional side of leaving work behind. We discuss why so many people feel a loss of identity, how trial and error is a normal part of this transition, and how purpose, health, and community play a powerful role in creating a fulfilling life after work.
If you’re retired, approaching retirement, or supporting someone who is, this conversation offers insight, reassurance, and perspective you may not hear often.

❄️ Snow day hustle out there! With this winter storm affecting many parts of the U.S., a lot of us are bundling up and grabbing our shovels. ☃️
Before you head outside (and after you finish!), remember that snow shoveling is real exercise — and your back, shoulders, and knees will thank you for a little prep. Be sure to warm up just like we do before any of our workouts (Here's a link to one of our quick warm ups: https://youtu.be/H7hMqK9khTs)
👉 After you come back in from the cold, try these simple after shoveling stretches to help you stay loose and reduce the risk of strain:

I created yes2next to capture my own journey and my goal to help seniors live joyful, active, and inspired lives. At 56, I’m embracing my age and change, viewing this time as a new beginning. I choose to say “yes” to this next chapter and all that it brings.
Our society places a premium on youth, which makes aging a challenge. On top of that, after 30, we lose muscle, our bone density decreases, and our metabolism slows down. But staying active can keep our bodies and minds healthy.
I choose to live a natural life, embracing my gray hair and wrinkles. I have to work harder to stay fit now, but exercising gives me energy and strength. I view it as a vehicle to have a high quality, active life into my golden years.
It’s never too late to get moving. I’m excited to share my passion for healthy living with you. It will come in the form of workout videos, lifestyle tips, and stories about inspiring “after 50” superstars I meet along the way. Let’s say “yes” to the next steps to get stronger and make this the best stage of our lives.
I look forward to connecting with you and learning together!
