Hey everyone, poll update!

We ended up in a solid 3–way tie for who should be the recipient of "birthday month donations."

So we came up with a Plan-B!

For the months of August and September, a portion of our earnings will be donated to Keller's Kats Rescue.

Following that, in October donations will be made to Lollypop farm, and in November donations will be made to Pets for Patriots to coincide with Veterans Day.

At Fortunes and Familiars, we vibe with all three of these causes.

What we especially love about Keller's Kats is that they go out of their way to help animals with extra special needs that may otherwise be overlooked. (Yes, doggos are included with the cause but we do love that Cats steal the show here!) Animals with disabilities may require a different kind of care, but in the right home, they can thrive and live happy pampered lives!

Keller's Kats Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization that was formed in October 2014 and is completely volunteer run. We are a dedicated group of individuals who work tirelessly to find suitable homes for abandoned, lost, and surrendered animals in jeopardy of euthanasia in and around Rochester, NY.

vibe check:

when you feel out of control or too scattered, and your attention is pulled in too many directions, look within and find balance. Be judicious about where you are spending your energy. while you may have lots of interest and many many passions, it is important to prioritize what is feeding your soul the most in that moment. in short, take some irons out of that fire. It's OK to put things on the back burner, to enjoy and have appreciation for your interests without diving in head first.

remember: in the end it is you who creates your life. You are the one who plants the seed. Only by focused energy and nurturing will you see substantial growth to those intentions. Scattered and haphazard energy will create chaotic results in kind. So take a breath, evaluate, focus and move purposefully forward to where you want to be.

I am staunch believer in the idea that synchronicities will show up with increasing frequency as an affirmation that you are on the right course. It's almost the cosmic nod of "everything is OK, keep going".

I've had a few mind blowing moments like this recently. & when the synchronies show up, it always gives me a smile. I don't go actively looking for these happenings, but noticing the presence and expressing gratitude for these affirmations is an important part of the process. It truly opens the door to a dialogue instead of a one-sided conversation that goes flat.

The photos shown here were taken one day apart. The first one of the cicada exoskeleton was taken on Saturday at Seneca Lake State Park. If you didn't know before, you will know that I am a "Gaia girl" and I always find inspiration in the natural world. The quiet beauty of this little exoskeleton clinging to the tree captivated me, so I snapped the photo.

The next day at my vending event I was shuffling a tarot deck I don't normally carry with me at shows. But it had called me for a reason. I pulled out the first three cards and they all presented in reverse. I typically flip "all reverse" draws, but looking at them I knew this was how they were meant to be seen. The final card I flipped showed the cicada. And this closed the loop on the message from the day before.

A beautiful message of releasing, of how just how important the "letting go" process is for your transformation and moving forward... no matter how daunting "letting go" may seem.

Think of the lifecycle of the cicada. It takes them 13 or 17 years of growth underground before they can emerge. Only to then be called to shed their skin and transform. Evolution and rebirth is no small feat. But it is a worthy process, and a beautiful challenge. This is your calling to allow yourself to become the vibrant evolved version of exactly who you were meant to be.

So take a deep breath.
You got this.
Let go, Spread those wings and fly!!

Pay attention to the things that you notice. Those little unexpected things that catch your attention. There's something there for you.

I can't tell you the amount of times that I get caught being randomly distracted by things that have gone unnoticed to others. I don't think a single other person would've noticed this cutie little frog playing peek-a-boo on top of the tent selling water at a summer concert. it was my moment of "Squee!" & snapping a quick pic on my camera that drew the attention of lady behind me to him. (And then she immediately went back to her conversation.) Both reactions are valid, both reactions are appropriate to the person. And when I got home and dove into looking up the lore of frog,… It 100% made sense. I was meant to see this little cutie pie.

Whether it was a sound, a fleeting vision, or just me "watching the dragonflies", there is magic and messages to be found in those moments of smallness. The random detail that jumps out at you. Not everyone will notice the same things you do, and that's when you'll know the message is yours. 💜💫

sometimes I wonder what people must think when I pedal by with foliage "growing" out of my backpack.

But then i remember I am also a member of the "WDNC club", and I smile and giggle, hoping that the surrealism makes their day better.

The second photo is my spirit room in progress… I am thinking of adding some Mugwort & St. John's wort to really elevate this piece. These little Spiritual projects that originate from intuition always seem to work out best.
