AAFY version 4.0 layout 1/1000. Jam packed weekend of moving and setting up. It’s not perfect but ready for clients and patients today.

It’s funny a lot of times I forget I’m a business owner. I never complete the business courses I start, I don’t have a grand plan. I’ve always just thought to myself. “If I do a great job and help people some how s**t will work out”

It hit me at 4:24 AM when I was cleaning AAFYs first ever customer toilet that perhaps things will@improve fact work out. Watch out bezos

My last session at AAFY 3.0, we officially close up shop Friday at 10:30 for patients and clients. Version 4.0 will be up and running 9:30 AM Monday.

I might be slinging less weights then 2020 when this version opened, but I’m happy to think back on all the folks who have walked out these doors in less pain, stronger, and excited to tackle their most active life.

Thank you to all the folks who have made growth possible and stay tuned for what’s next for AAFY

Short and long term planning. A lot of my homies and me turn 40 this year and discussed fitness. Im@lucky enough to be around a dudes who demand a lot of themselves and chatted on concrete challenging goals.
For me short term goals by 40 (1 year is nothing)
Sn**ch 225 and run a 5K under 23:30 within the same month. I’ve always like tbe balancing act

Long term goals: Ari is on cycle one to qualify for 84ish kg freestyle 2048

In 8:00 or less work to a single pull up with your middle child. Must be back pack set up, must be pronated grip. This is the amount of detail associated with actual individualized coaching

Recently I’ve gotten a lot of clients who are newer to training. I always try to explain to goal of our current cycle and why we’re doing what we’re doing.

I think it helps build buy in, create clear expectations and helps with commutatinf any issues they have or don’t understand.

One of them asked me “ok what are you doing right now”

I told them I wanted to be a bit stronger, they asked me what exactly that meant to me. I elaborated that squatting would be cool because my knee is feeling good and I enjoy it.

I think it was a really cool moment of insight for them. It doesn’t have to be super complex, but it does take consistently showing up.

I’m also trying to stay the dominant species in my home. Char dog is for sure more nimble already, Dorothy is closing in on most aggressive, and Ari is just trying to survive. That’s my long term athletic planning

This was a big win to receive this message and update

Lowest body fat and highest muscle mass over seven years of tracking

Biggest gains since October which included some final rounds of chemo infusions.

There wasn’t any fancy cleanses or protocols. There was communication about a conservative on ramp after a major medical setback. There was consistent day to day and week to week efforts. The relationship and communication set up some big wins along the way

In ten weeks we went from broken foot in a boot to heavy cleans and a hunt to win competition. While he was in the boot we kept fitness high with workouts specific to wha he could and couldn’t do.

Once out of the boot we split time between specific rehab and the elements of fitness that he could do unimpeded.

The result is a full recovery and not a huge dip in general fitness. That’s complete remote rehab for ya

Some insight on how someone’s actually receiving individualized work and why they are receiving it

Some insight on a new PR from the hang for

The best PTs have a few scars. It takes a certain amount of empathy the be a clinician who has fully bought into the profession. A crooked spine, multiple surgeries you name it I’ve been there

I know what it’s like to get bad news

I know what it’s like to not know what’s going to happen or if you’ll ever come back.

I know how awesome it feels to be back

Most importantly I know that there are certain things that are worth hurting for.
