This day started with high emotions and every word spoken was taken as devastating to the kiddos. We almost did a little restart. Tired bodies equals all the emotions. Anyway, I rubbed Joy oil on their spines and said a little prayer, Lord knows we needed some intervening.
I had little to no hopes of school happening before heading into the lab today. What could’ve seemed like an unproductive day turned, ornament making, volcano videos and maps, and finishing our read aloud. Me choosing this book is for another time. 😆 we skipped parts and a chapter, but we finished. Owen slowly went upstairs to grab his handwriting to work on a page as I finished our last chapter.
I’ve learned that this homeschooling thing are surprises around every corner, doubts, wins, and lowering your own expectations. So in my book, today was a productive day. Homeschooling also looks different for everyone. It’s not always picture perfect, so stop comparing it to the people around you. It does NOT have to be pretty. It just has to work for you and your family.
