How do you feel when you look at yourself in the mirror?

I want to share a personal tip that’s helped me feel better about my body and boost my confidence instantly.

What I’ve noticed is that how I feel when I look in the mirror totally depends on… 🥁🥁🥁 the LIGHTING! I know it sounds funny, but hear me out! Why set ourselves up for failure? How we feel about ourselves directly impacts how we experience life and how we show up in the world.

So why stand in terrible lighting, focusing on the areas you wish were different, when you know it’s not doing you any favors? Set yourself up for success! Find that flattering mirror with good lighting, wear something that makes you feel amazing, and focus on the parts of yourself that are easier to appreciate.

When you focus on what feels good, you feel better about yourself, and your confidence starts to shine. Your body will catch up. It takes a bit of discipline to appreciate the parts of yourself that you love, but trust me, the positive results are almost instant!

I get to help them appreciate and love who they are and how they get to show up for the people they love 💖

I help them turn their out of control cravings that are leading them to feel shame and guilt and hurting their self-esteem and confidence...

Into craving the clean, clear, high vibe feeling of what it feels like to be eating, and living in alignment with your higher self ✨ while answering the calling to your bigger purpose

Because eating a diet that matches your higher vibration is way more than a "quick fix, fad diet"... It's a spiritual journey and practice. And once you make that connection, eating food that feels good becomes easy 🙌🏼🤗

Yes!!! I freakin did it!!

I passed the takeout spots on my way home from work and I toughed out making a simple healthy dinner🥦🥔

It might seem like such a small win but When you've been feeling controlled by your cravings...

When You've told yourself again and again, "Enough is enough!!!"... Only to find yourself doing the same thing the very next day...

You've made a habit of Eating & drinking things you know are not making you feel the way you want to feel

Or eating too much, too fast until you're over stuffed and tired...

Or even not allowing time to do the things that we know make us feel good, like move your body and get outside.

I don't know how it happened, maybe getting hit with "C" a few times as well as everything else that was going around🤪 (I think I've been sick more than I have my whole life this year), maybe even got used to not feeling great🤔...
But I just gradually slipped out of my good feeling place and BLAH became the new norm🙄
And BLAH is not how I do life!!!

But today gets to be different.
Because I just reached my threshold for feeling sh*tty
I yearn to feel that clarity, excitement and energy for life that I know and love so much.

Man what a good reminder at how different seeing life through a high vibe, clean, clear lens vs through the lens of feeling bogged down, heavy and tired 😜

We often like to say "after New Year's! Then I gotta do something!!"
I say, why Wait to feel better!?? I CAN'T WAIT actually! There is no food worth not feeling good for 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is starting again with the little wins!

Come New Year's, we'll have already made some strides 🥳🤗

I got great news!

You are NOT your sh*tty moods
You are NOT your emotions!

There was a time, and I'm talking like a few decades 🙄, that my moods and my emotions ran my life

They became me... I felt impatient, irritated, negative, rude, antisocial, critical, depressed, bored, tired... Most of the time!!!😫

I see how we can confuse our moods and emotions as our identity and make them mean something about WHO we are

We think something is wrong with us
We think we need more therapy and more meds (which sometimes we do🙏🏼)

This can be absolutely devastating on our self confidence... It was on mine

But the good news is that we get to decide who and how we want to show up in the world

AND we do have what we need to actually get to the root of chronic moodiness and feeling over emotional

We can heal our moodiness and from the inside out! We can get relief from the emotional rollercoaster we are riding

For me it's been a holistic approach...

🫶🏼Eating foods that ease the tension in my body has been HUGE🥦🍓🍠🥗🥑🥝🥔
🫶🏼 Being aware of what thoughts are helpful and which are hurtful and Choosing the thoughts that get my attention
🫶🏼Being easy with myself by caring enough about how I feel to do what I need to do to feel good, even if it's not the popular move🙏🏼

The result...
✨ I get to see my TRUE self with more clarity
✨I feel good more of the time😺
✨I love who I get to be🤗

You are love
You are light
You get to feel good
This is your time

Anything less is not the truth

Are your false identities blocking your truth?
Are you being gentle in your process?

I hear it all the time, " I don't have time for self-care", people saying they don't have time for self-care... they are working, going to school, raising kids, taking care of the house and the family...

AND I get it!!! I remember when my kids were younger and people would ask if I was getting enough self-care and Id want to gouge their eyeballs out 😱 Ha! as if I had time for that!

But here's the thing you actually don't need time for SELF-CARE

SELF-CARE is about a lot more than just pedicures and facials

SELF-CARE is about caring about how you feel!

Being aware enough to notice when something doesn't feel good or rubs you the wrong way and making adjustments in order to take care of how you're feeling

Most of the time these are small adjustments that can happen right in the moment If you are paying attention...

Like Turning off the news When it's highlighting topics that make you feel scared or hopeless ( which I think might be always)😜

Getting yourself some water So you can stay hydrated

Eating when you're hungry vs Not feeding yourself all day and waiting until you're ready to have a hangry meltdown

Or NOT eating something that you know is going to leave you feeling bloated and uncomfortable or tired and groggy

Even changing the subject or removing yourself from the room if people around you are wanting to talk negative🙉🙊

These things seem so minor But when practice regularly have huge impact on how you feel and the overall joy and satisfaction you have in your daily life 💫✨🌈
