Are you prepared to navigate the cardiovascular risks of psychedelic use?
As psychedelics become more widely used in both therapeutic and spiritual settings, it’s essential that facilitators and healthcare providers understand the most they can regarding potential cardiovascular risks—particularly for individuals with pre-existing conditions or elevated risk factors.
On Saturday May 17th, 9a–11:30a Mountain Time (MT), I’ll be hosting a webinar workshop in which I’ll aim to:
🎯 Outline a systematic rationale for cardiovascular screening prior to psychedelic experiences
🎯 Describe the hemodynamic effects of ketamine and serotonergic psychedelics and their clinical implications
🎯 Recognize key cardiovascular risk factors, stratify risk severity, and assess medication profiles
🎯 Discuss emergency preparedness strategies and harm reduction approaches
🎯 Critically evaluate limitations in current clinical trial data and relevance to real-world practice
In this workshop, we’ll explore the pharmacology of various psychedelic substances including psilocybin, L*D, DMT, M**A, and ketamine. You’ll learn how to assess cardiovascular safety, identify red flags, and build confidence in your screening and preparation protocols. We’ll also walk through real-world intake forms and case examples.
This workshop is intended for clinicians, psychedelic facilitators, integration coaches, and retreat center operators who want to deepen their medical literacy and risk mitigation strategies when supporting psychedelic experiences. Eligible for Oregon Psilocybin Continuing Facilitator Education credit.
Registration is $35 and includes the live webinar, access to a video recording, and downloadable PDF slides. The workshop will consist of a 60–75 min lecture, short break, 30–40 min case discussion, and 30 min Q&A session.
