I find myself sitting here today, the silence amplifying the echoes of memories.
It’s a silence many of you know well.
A silence that’s not empty but filled with the presence of their absence.
I wanted to reach out, not with answers, because I don’t have them, but with a shared understanding.
This journey through grief isn’t a straight line.
It’s more like a tangled ball of yarn.
Some days, the sun peeks through, offering hope.
Other days, the shadows are long and make the future seem dark.
I know how isolating it can feel.
The world keeps spinning, but yours has stopped.
People offer platitudes, not understanding that grief isn't something you ‘get over.’
It's something you learn to live with.
It becomes a part of you, woven into the fabric of your being.
But even in the darkest depths, please remember you’re not alone. Everyone here understands, in our own unique way, the pain you carry.
We’re a community, a circle of hearts bound together by loss, offering each other support, compassion, and a safe space to grieve without judgment.
Today, I’m sending you all a virtual hug.
Let’s continue to walk this path together, one step at a time, offering each other light in the darkness.
Your fellow grief traveler,
-Gary
