Loved every character in this show
But favorite was Henry Darrow!

Got a surprise from one of the EAPs I serve. (Employee Assistance Program)
I was recognized as one of the top 50 providers in the company. A week later, I received an email stating that I was actually in the top 5 of that 50. That's a first : )
As a reward, I was given a free 3 hour CE course (needed to recertify every 2 years.)
Nice surprise !

"Do as I say..." Computer burped as I was logging on to work last night. Being a former repair-person, I realized it had 90% chance of being dead and unrevivable.

I became a Meta-helicopter (observing my reactions -no judgment) and noticed how calm and resolute I was. Even when I realized that my last back-up was too long ago to recover some files.
My finished novel- in last edit was on there.
All my Martial Arts information and new videos...
Pictues newly uploaded...
Fonts...
Graphics... All locked away and gone if my Computer Doc was unable to resurrect at least the hard drive.

My take-away for this?
Not everything is lost.
I can reload what I have and move on with a new computer.

Self- sabotage.
I remember a College administrator (Dear Mr. Mercer--nicest guy, ever) who had just submitted his thesis when the building burned down. He never tried to re-create it and missed out on his degree as he was so distraught.
Did my thoughts about this loss bring my own demise? I've been thinking about backing up for a few days now. But did not. And I know better!

Consequences.
Big believer in Natural Consequences. I have choices and taking shortcuts and procrastination are seldom good bedfellows.
I take my "licks" (that's anything from beatings to paying fines for you young ones but I'm really talking about Consequences in general) and move on.

The LifeLesson here is that I have the tools to stay calm in disasters, hiccups, and my own stupidity.
Staying in the cognitive/thinking brain
Not over catastrophisizing an event.
Focusing on options.
Mindful of thoughts and intent.

So, I'm off to Computer Heaven (Cedar Rapids) to see what my options are...

With Covid precautions dominating the news, my practice has exploded.
Odd.
People can talk anonymously on their cell, preferring that to face-to-face.
Well and good.
Check your EAP benefits (ask HR) and see if a little (free) anonymous support is what you need to tide you over until we are all used to the new "normal."

Another move, this time, across to town to our (temporal) forever home. Hoping to have 20+ years before giving it to the kids.
Currently, I'm working with an EAP company, consulting, continuing contract work and Life Coaching.
One more note regarding unpacking. It's different when you know you're going to move again as opposed to staying in one spot for many years. Planning is different; choices take more thought... fun in a new way!
