Be sure to pay attention to your Critical Thought Momentum. (CTM)

We don't get to choose the thoughts that come to mind in every given point of our day, but we do get to choose what thoughts we stick with... and connect to other thoughts... which leads to an chain of thoughts.

This chain of thoughts will eventually lead to hormone releases as a precursor to action in regard to our thought.

CTM is the process of taking positive or negative thoughts and harnessing them into actions.

Just be aware of your thought processes and make sure you me CTM is in a positive direction.

Life's physical battles are won or lost in the mind.

We don't get to choose what thoughts come into our mind... but we do choose which thought processes continue into thought patterns.

Just be mindful and stay present. When we get caught overthinking our past or future, we are neglecting the impact we can make in our lives in the present moment.

Want to work on discipline to make healthier choices?

Do a +1/-1 to build Positive Health Momentum.

Take one thing you know is bad for you and find a way to quit or limit the behavior, and at the same time, add one thing that is good for you.

Here's an example: If you drink soda regularly, even if you still buy the same amount, just find the discipline to drink less of the container. So if you drink a 20oz soda in the afternoon, find the willpower to only drink 3/4 of it. The smaller amount of soda, while healthier, is not the real benefit. The real benefit comes from excercising your discipline.

One easy and free thing to add to your daily routine could be "breath work." There's plenty of studies that have proven how focused breathing, even for a couple minutes, can help the body in so many ways.

The purpose of the +1/-1 is not to have some sort of overnight health success. Yet, the main purpose is to strengthen our willpower and discipline.

If you can strengthen willpower and discipline, so many other areas of your life will benefit on your journey towards Positive Health Momentum.

David Goggins is a little raw, but I love him for it, and Dr Andrew Huberman, so concise... they make a great pair in this podcast.

Willpower isn't something you are born with. It is something you develop.

I love when science starts to find the proof of things we inherently know.

Willpower isn't developed when we like or enjoy things. That's easy. True willpower comes from when we do things that we really don't want to do.

Growth and willpower comes by always challenging ourselves. We never "make it." There is no finish line.

Constantly seeking new growth is the only real way to live.

Get some sun!!

It's been overcast for the better part of a month where I live.

I'm feeling grateful to actually see the sun in its full glory today.

Have you guys ever heard of sun gazing?

There's a theory that staring at the sun when it's on the horizon can do magical things for our hormones and all kinds of other benefits.

I personally have tried it many times and haven't experienced any negative health affects with my eyes.

I think there may be something to it.

Either way... the sun plays a crucial role in our immune system when it comes to UV light hitting our skin. The UV light breaks down cholesterol and helps it convert to Vitamin D...

Be sure to get some sun on your skin today!!

Life is a marathon. Not a sprint.

In our "instant gratification" world, real change is hard to see in the beginning.

Just remember to do what you can today to build momentum for your future.

Make every choice matter.

Much like life, my idea of ShyftLyfe is a marathon. It's just the beginning and right now I'm working on the foundation. Getting the social media platforms, branding, and marketing/content strategy are taking the spotlight.

I would love your input. I'm wanting to grow this idea as organic as possible... meaning I want to let the people coming to ShyftLyfe dictate it's direction.

If you have ideas for content or health questions, I'd love to cater the content to help those that are engaging the most.

Are your thought patterns keeping you from finding Peace and Joy?

Peace and Joy can only exist in the present moment.

When we spend too much energy focused on the past or future, we are robbing ourselves of peace and joy in the present moment.

We can't revisit the past, and the future is not promised.

So much of our life'a direction is determined by our thoughts and actions in the present moment.

We will cover so many things as ShyftLyfe unfolds, but at the core of everything is our daily thought patterns.

We must accept what we can't change or control, and put our energy into what we can change or control.

Peace and Joy are not emotions. They are states of mind.

Encourage yourself and find gratitude in your mind. There you will find the Peace and Joy you seek.

Finding the "why" will always lead to discovering the "how."

Many of us seek change, but without a solid "why," the "how" can seem elusive.

Once the "why" becomes clear... the "how" will be found through sheer determination.

Find your "why" and let the rest take shape through each passing choice.

Nothing is gained in this life without shifting our focus from seeking what we desire to seeking discipline in every aspect of our life.

One of the main purposes of a ShyftLyfe approach to life, is to find one aspect of life and slowly "shyft" it in a positive direction.

Learning to be disciplined in one aspect of life will carry over to building discipline in other aspects life.
