We had a great turnout at the GGCOA Quarterly meeting yesterday in Oakland and the majority of folks joined us for the Happy Hour event that followed. Once again, we were excited to see some new faces and a lot of new introductions were made. We even had an officer from Atlanta FDA join in the fun since he was in town for work. Remember, these events serve as a GREAT way to meet other Bay Area officers in a fun & informal setting.

Finally, be on the lookout for more information regarding our upcoming GGCOA membership drive. Our goal is to foster esprit de corps at these monthly events and we definitely encourage you to participate if you haven’t done so already. Need a lil’ extra motivation? Well, how’s this sound? (Drumroll please….) For our August & September Happy Hour events, we will be giving away GGCOA coins to officers joining us for the FIRST time this year! Don’t miss out! Six of our Golden Gate COA officers along with some dedicated family members participated in the Surgeon General's Virtual 5K this past Sunday in SF. The course ran alongside the popular SF waterfront, thereby allowing runners to take in scenic bay views while increasing PHS visibility along the way. Great job & thanks to all who participated!

Fellow Officers - it is our honor to share that the Golden Gate Branch COA has been selected as Large Branch of the Year and we will be honored during the General Member Meeting at the 2018 USPHS Scientific and Training Symposium in Dallas. We have come a long way as a Branch over the past few years and we continue to grow - congratulations to you all!
