Food, once a symbol of family, pleasure, and tradition in my Italian upbringing, also emerged as a biological signal capable of shaping our genetic expression. With over 17 years of research, including pioneering work at Stanford University, I’ve seen that nurturing well-being isn’t about deprivation or complexity. It’s about rational optimism, finding joy in simple habits, and integrating evidence-based science into the rhythms of everyday life.
