We bought a house…again! 🏡It’s been a bit of a bittersweet process leaving our first home behind, but are beyond grateful and excited for this next place to become ours.

Moving with a toddler was definitely a challenge, but I think he loved the “tuck” (Uhaul) the most!🚚

Also, a HUGE shoutout to with for not only making the process easy, but enjoyable! I’m convinced she’s the best in the area 🤗

Our home since having Gideon is never how I would have imagined it looking, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Funny enough, his exploring of ALL THE THINGS challenges my design mind to simplify and focus on functionality. I’m continually asking, “How can our home serve our family in the best possible way?”

It won’t always look in disarray with a pack n play being scooted from one room to the next, but for now, it’ll do just fine ☺️

-catching up on laundry
-sipping cold coffee
-squeezing in 5 minutes here or there of truth
-nurse, nap, play, repeat

some days can be really hard, but embracing the unknowns & having that precious face smiling back at me makes it all worth it. thank you Jesus for YOUR goodness each day🙌🏻

we wanted Gid’s room to be a sort of retreat. A place he felt safe to sleep, play, grow & learn. it's not perfect by any means.

as much as I love seeing lovely curated nurseries, all neutral & organized (& SERIOUS props to y'all who have those because they are BEAUTIFUL!), his is not that. we embrace color, quirk, & imperfection.

mama, we aren't called to have it all together. we are called to nurture & love our children well, to raise them up to know the love of the Father.

so here's to you, mama, who's on the ground loving on your kids in messy spaces with toys & books, dirty diapers & clean (read: unfolded) laundry. you're doing great

BC in DC 2022🏛💄
This week I was supposed to head to DC for round 2 of advocating on Capitol Hill for more health-protective laws, but swipe to see what I was doing instead.

I was right where I needed to be.💞
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
even though I wasn't in DC feeling energized (& a bit nervous) on these steps, I still advocate from home for sweet Gideon & Ben. it's not just a 3-day trip or meetings with lawmakers; it's an everyday fight for change. I make choices that support my family's health & well-being-- & there's so much power in that!

Okay, all! I have been loving Promptly Journals Postpartum & Childhood History Journals in this season of life, but since January I've also been in on another cool resource. Let's be real, connecting with your spouse after having a child can be put on the back burner. Promptly has a text subscription with Loom where they send you & your significant other talking points to create deeper connection! I sure have been grateful for these little prompts to dive deeper with Ben. You can see some of what they have sent us in the images.

our little chunk is 2 months old. I’m not quite sure how it happened but here we are 😍😭

I take the cake for the most amount of laundry in a week. (how someone so small can go through as many outfits as he does is beyond my understanding!!) I’m also getting very vocal & smiley. mom & I have been going on lots of stroller rides, and dad joins us in the evening. It’s fun, but I sleep through most of it! overall, I really love life!💙

this time 2 years ago, we were wrapping up our 3 week European Adventure. It feels like yesterday & yet, a lifetime ago. it was truly one of the best experiences full of so many memories.

this photo was taken post-hike, pre-INCREDIBLE lunch at a gasthaus overlooking the Austrian Alps, where my grandparents spent much of their 20s and early 30s.

It’s crazy how much your body can change in 9 short months to accommodate a beautiful blessing. Yes, there are uncomfortable & inconvenient changes, but I am learning to lean into them & preach this to myself:
They. Are. Worth. It.
More than the physical changes, the spiritual and mental changes the Lord is taking me through are just a beautiful & blessed.

last week we replaced our gutters and I was so excited for a dramatic before & after shots…. JOKES ON ME.

today marks 2 years of owning our & today is also my sweet Opa's birthday- his first not here on earth.
today, we celebrate the blessings we've been given, the memories we've made, & the joy that the ones we love bring us.
thank you, Lord, for the sorrows that make our joys that much sweeter.
