When we are in soul, we are connected in Spirit. Looking at our greening trees now, one can ask, which leaf is the master of the tree? The high leaf or the low leaf? The tree is the analog to the Spirit that connects us, one leaf to another. There is a marvelous peace and equanimity there! ~Rudy

Today's Koan: Spiritual Touch

From the profound presence with Spirit, one comes away with many impressions, but most prominent for me are the senses of gratefulness and humility. That ‘I Am,’ and I am part of ‘All of This!’ These touch my heart and soul to their very depths. Think of prayerful hands reaching up and opening to the endless sky, knowing the humility of personal scale under this deep sky, but also that my own spiritual presence is looking through an open window to this ineffable grandeur of Being — and I have a Loving Docent showing the way. Instead of a photo with this koan, here is a link to a marvelous video called “The Overview Effect” that chronicles the impressions of astronauts after their profound experiences in space. You don’t have to go into orbit to access this awareness, this presence. As I’ve said in other koans, we go inward to go outward. Let this wonderful, inspiring video be spiritual touch for you. Where does it take you? Pax, Rudy _/|\_ (LXXVI)

One can find the spiritual presence of the Kingdom in the quiet of our inner being. But the outside is so often filled with strife. One might ask, is that strife the nature of this earth, this kingdom, or simply the act of men and women not living from their own center, from the quiet of their inner presence? Perhaps we do not see the Kingdom because we do not live from the gifts of the Kingdom. ~Rudy

Faith draws us through the doors of worship where metaphor, ritual and dogma reside. But then, some few walk through the back door of the holy places, emerging from three tents into a blinding courtyard that is awash in the light of Being. There we are immersed in the mists of the glorious "cloud of unknowing." ~Rudy
