Dr. Donald Morris is a board certified ophthalmologist, an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, and an Attending Surgeon at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Montefiore Hospital. He has been director of the Ophthalmology Department at North Central Bronx Hospital, and a Consulting Ophthalmic Pathologist at Montefiore Hospital. He then went to New York University School of Medicine for his Degree in Medicine (M.D.). He took a three year residency in Ophthalmology at New York University, followed by a one year fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at the same institution. Dr. Morris has been in practice for over 20 years. In 1985 he was elected President of the New York Society for Clinical Ophthalmology. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and chapters, and has written extensively for the lay press. He has written several articles about cataracts and glaucoma for Our Town newspaper, and copies are available in the waiting room. Dr. Morris has been seen on radio and television on numerous occasions. He has appeared with Geraldo Rivera, Joe Franklin, Casper Citron, Joan Hamburg, and Ruth Jacobs, to name but a few. On the Channel 11 evening news, the artist Jack Beal and Dr. Morris were interviewed by Donna Hanover, after Mr. Beal dedicated a painting to Dr. Morris for his efforts in restoring his vision.
