The Power of Community: Learning and Growing Through Shared Experiences!
In today's session, I opened up about a deeply personal chapter in my life - my experience as a young mother of four during my first year of nursing school. 🩺💗
It was a challenging time, made even more difficult when my son was diagnosed with PVL, a form of cerebral palsy. 💙
Through sharing my story, I hope to illustrate the incredible power of community in building bridges to success, even in the face of adversity. 🌉
When we come together and support one another, we create a network of resilience, empathy, and shared wisdom that can help us overcome even the toughest obstacles. 💖
I invite you to listen to my story and reflect on how being part of a strong, supportive community has impacted your own personal and professional growth. 🌟
Together, let's continue to foster a culture of openness, understanding, and empowerment within the nursing profession and beyond.

Nurses in Tech: Building Solutions That Make a Difference
As nurses, we have a wealth of clinical experience across various settings.
We've seen firsthand the disparities in patient outcomes.
Michael Loomis, MBA, BSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM chats with Nurses In Tech about the importance of harnessing our expertise to build innovative technology solutions that truly make a difference - whether it's for healthcare administration, nursing workflows, or direct patient care.
Too often, healthcare technology is developed without sufficient input from the end users - nurses who will actually be using these tools day in and day out to deliver care.
It's crucial to have nurses intimately involved in the tech development process from the ground up.
Nurses need a strong voice to ensure the solutions are practical, intuitive, and designed around real clinical workflows.
Legacy EHR systems like Epic and Cerner were built on generic paradigms that don't always fit smoothly into a nurse's workflow as they're caring for patients.
With more tech-savvy nurses entering the field than ever before, there's a huge opportunity to rethink how these systems are designed and implemented.
It's past time for nurses to be included!
And until then, we have a responsibility to create the solutions our patients need!
Why?
Because we are the solutions!

Are The Voices Of Nurses Respected?
Yes And No!
Nurses are indeed the most trusted profession.
According to a 2024 poll, 78% of Americans believe nurses have high ethical and honesty standards, which is the highest rating of any profession.
Gallup has named nurses the most honest and ethical profession for 22 years and running.
So why don't nurses feel trusted in the spaces where it matters most?
I'm sure we all remember Covid-19 and its impact on ourselves, our families, and our friends.
Nurses played a central role, yet their voices were noticeably absent at the White House, both in decision-making chambers and even in the strategic utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The incorporation of nurses' perspectives in public education would have been highly valuable and well-received.
During our chat with Tesiah Coleman, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, WHNP-BC, CLC she highlights the impact of listening to nurses and the positive long-term change that happens when we do!
