Garlic lowers Cholesterol and Triglycerides
Although wards off vampires, for us humans , garlic only brings benefits. A recent study published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture reveals that as Mediterranean food also reduces the levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides.
The study, conducted by researchers at the Institute of Toxicology, Shandong University (China), analyzed 26 previous studies that evaluated the effects of garlic and found that the best results are obtained in long-term treatments. The authors conclude that garlic therapies may be beneficial in patients with cardiovascular disease risk.
