DCMS was thrilled to have physician volunteers speak to fourth year medical students at UTSW on the Private Practice Panel for the second year. Students in the Physician’s and Society MS4 course heard from physicians across diverse specialty and practice setting within private practice. From practical business considerations to conversations about maintaining clinical rigor and participating in research in private practice settings, students had fantastic questions! We appreciate UTSW for this ongoing partnership and for allowing our DCMS physicians in private practice to inspire future physicians.

Please join us in wishing Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper a happy birthday! He turns 95 today. Dr. Cooper revolutionized global health by introducing the concept of aerobics and proving that regular exercise prevents disease and extends life.

Before his 1960s research, exercise was mostly for athletes, and preventive health was not a medical priority. His 1968 book "Aerobics" sparked a worldwide fitness movement and established exercise as essential medicine.

Through institutions in Dallas, such as Cooper Aerobics, Dr. Cooper has championed prevention over treatment for more than half a century. His legacy endures in millions of healthier lives and the global embrace of wellness. Dr. Cooper has been a DCMS member for 55 years.
