Jonathan T. is a legacy graduate of Stable Recovery that is employed full time with Taylor Made Farm. He shared with us the impact the horses have had on his life and his recovery journey.

"Once I came in contact with a horse for the first time in my life, I realized something right from the start. No matter what kind of smile or mask you put on, a horse knows and feels whatever you feel or are going through. After a few days working with them, no matter how much I hated myself for my past, and the harm and pain I caused myself and others, I caught myself smiling, laughing, and loving something other than myself. When you are having the worst day or nothing feels like it's going right, and you don't know whether to cry, cuss, or just give up. For me, when I look these horses in the eyes and they lay their heads on my shoulders or in my chest, it'll melt the toughest of hearts, and they don't care what you've done or who you've been, just how you treat them, and just showing up everyday is the only thing they want. Once you build that trust and bond, it's unbreakable." - Jonathan T

Linda Kohanov

It was an unexpected gift to meet up with Pam Luttrell Salem during our trip to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Big Ears Music Festival. Pam came to one of my workshops in the early 2000s and she got to meet my great teacher horse Noche , who I’ve written about in several books. We reminisced about Noche who passed away in 2004. So great to see you Pam!
