4 miles this morning! But it almost didn't happen. On most days I don't really feel like doing any physical activity, but then I remember how much it does for my mind, body and spirit.

When we give our bodies what it needs, it will love you for it.

Some benefits of running/walking include:

✅️Longer deeper sleep😴
✅️Better mood 😃 (Endorphins released)
✅️Clarity of mind 🧠
✅️Time alone (solitude is important & necessary)
✅️Fresh air
✅️Vitamin D 🌞
✅Increase endurance and stamina
✅️ ️Muscle gain (legs, glutes, hamstrings, quads & calves) etc...

Are you giving your body what it needs to thrive or just enough to survive? It's not always easy but it's worth it.

I was a bit tired this morning but I got up and ran the Grete Great Gallop 10K/6.2miles in Central Park.

I had a great run especially because just before the race started we ran into my dear friend The LME Connection who is one of my big inspirations for running. Thanks friend for that motivation this morning! 😘💕 And keep up the amazing work training so many others. You rock! 💪🏾

This morning I ran 5.25 miles! This run brings me 32 miles which concludes the 31 mile Mental Health Challenge I took on earlier this month. As a runner, I will not stop running because running is a part of my lifestyle.

This 🏃🏾‍♀️ was a deliberate decision I made some years ago to make running my go-to form of physical activity and mental wellness. It was hard when I started and ran my very first mile, but I persevered these 5 years and now I run even when I do not feel like running. I've created this habit that my body craves.

Feelings will lie to us and have us not do the things we know we ought to be doing. Doing hard things is what makes us grow stronger and build resilience. Striving towards having excellent mental health means that we must care for our 🧠brain! It's quite difficult to have good mental health without having a healthy brain. Running helps to improve our cognitive functioning.

Keep a look out for my next post where I will share ways to improve 🧠 brain function which ultimately make for better mental health.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Are you aware that that the symptoms for nutrient deficiency/depletion are the same as some mental health challneges like anxiety & depression?
Something to consider. 🤔

If this is something you may be concerned about, make an appointment with your Physician to ensure you are not deficient in any nutrient.

May is Mental Health Awareness month. If you are feeling down, depressed, anxious, stressed, worried or lonely, just remember that you have a friend who can renew your strengh. His name is Jesus!

The word says in Isaiah 40:30-31 - Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Such a wonderful event on Saturday with the PTSA at the Dobbs Ferry Library! I enjoyed reading my book to all the kiddos and parents and showing them all the different types of eggplants. I had a wonderful time. ps... My lovely mom bought me this beautiful dress. Thanks mommy! :) Thanks to all who purchased my books! We sold out! To God be all the glory for these amazing opportunities to talk about food and nutrition.
