What about wine?
Media conditioning has a powerful lasting effect especially if it’s been exposed from a younger age. We’ve seen countless movies where celebrations or a HTHT girly or bros session was ALWAYS almost solely done with alcohol.

So at least for me, as a little girl watching those gorgeous TV stars drink their sorrows away, I wasn’t aware then, but I’d already decided I’d wanted to be like them when I “grow up”.

When I was finally of age, I found out it didn’t taste nice, that we have to train ourselves to like it and that I was so HORRIBLE at it, literally 5 mouths in and I’d just puke or sleep. Though it was the same every time, I repeated this over and over again for YEARS. I had never paused for a second to question myself… until I did.

I didn’t realise I was afraid of feeling left out. I had always lived my life wanting to ‘belong’ by doing whatever I thought was the “norm”.

Now that I am more accepting of my own body limitations and knowing that I’d ‘belong’ no matter my choice of drink, I’d have to look for other ways to celebrate and address my troubles.

Well, I’ve tried drinking, scrolling, binge watching and shopping my sorrows away but nothing has worked until i properly take it out on a date and listen and talk to it 🙌

I’m not saying drinking is GOOD or BAD and I still occasionally try it esp when it’s small family business with homemade natural wine or sake. Just would like to remind myself to constantly work on knowing my thoughts and actions better!!! ☀️

Yes, we’ve moved our private dining to a magical place with where we have a garden to cook in and handmade dishes to serve our food in!

Thank you to .simplified and friends for trusting us with her EPIC BDAY PARTY. She said it was better than she could’ve ever imagined 😭

We began with a garden tour and harvested our own wild pepper leaves to make our famous pesto wrap and then we introduced our food and then the party started and the vibes these people gave off was just amazing. It was better than I could’ve ever imagined too 💕

Hope this one was a wonderful core memory for you, Sumi! 😂 Thanks for inspiring us to celebrate life unapologetically! 🥳

In Bandung Indonesia, we had this deeply energetic, spiritual Javanese masseuse came to massage us, it was the best 2 hours of deep tissue relaxation. Ok I digress...

Anw when she found out about my real age which was much older than she thought, she didn’t respond with surprise or envy like I usually hear but said (gently, might I add 😝) “oh yeah it seems like you didn’t have to go through hard work in your life, everything is done with a click on your phone. I work really hard and it shows in my body and I’m not afraid.”

Maybe she is right or isn’t, it’s not the point (but yes of course I’ve been privileged enough to not have to do real hard laborious work throughout my life), but it gave me new perspective on the term aging.

I think I have been conditioned to believe we should look younger than our actual age or we have this chase for “anti-aging”, stemming from a fear of “looking old”.

but this conversation with her made me question myself: what if the signs of age that showed up on my face and body didn’t mean “haggard” or “ugly”?

What if every wrinkle, spot, line, scar told the story of adventure, mishap, celebrations and tears I have ever had in my life? Booms* I am grateful for this new perspective Ibu, thank you! 🙏 I mean… I don’t mean I wanna look wrinkly tomorrow but I mean even if it shows up I might not be (so) afraid too? 😝

When we received a DM from Uruguay asking if we could do a Breakfast to surprise her vegan friend on her birthday because it was their Uruguayan tradition, OF COURSE WE AGREED!

So in true TBC all-natural, handmade from scratch, local garden to table fashion, we customised an amazing TBC breakfast box for her!

Oh the joy for us and for them!

We did:
1. Papa’s Curry Leaf Pesto on Tempeh “Bread”
With whole Tempeh as bread, and my dad’s homegrown organic curry leaf made into a pesto w sunflower seeds and nutritional yeast. Topped with cucumber, pineapple and creamy avocado.

2. Tofu Scramble with roasted mushrooms and cherry tomatoes

3. Preservative free Coconut Yoghurt with fruits and organic muesli

4. Secret Garden Brew
7 types of Mixed herbs and edible flowers all grown organically by my dad made into this secret garden blend. Feels like walking into a secret garden of your dreams literally 😝

Hey guys! This is Jacinda, coming out of my social media break! It’s been A WHILE!

Ever since returning from Japan and having experienced farm life and slow living, it made me rethink my priorities and how I really wanted to live in this big city… literally on the plane back I felt I needed to take a step back in life and on social media because of my over scrolling habits! Looking back, what I needed was time and space to reflect and switch the discovery to within.

I’m glad I did cos then I had the capacity to realise that I was using social media as a distraction. Whenever “negative” emotions arose, I really felt the urge to scroll so I redirect my attention to something else.

So then I started practicing how to address my feelings and emotions FIRST. it is tough but it’s getting A TAD easier as my body and mind is getting used to this new PRACTICE. And today I woke up with a fresh breath of air and felt ready to emerge from my cocoon with more intention and purpose!

At the end of the day, I’d started TBC to share soulful food and fun activities with community; And social media is a great platform to exchange creations and stories with our tribe! I’m so glad for every one of you I’d met online then offline. Including these 2 “customers-turned-friends” whom I communed at the park with today and incidentally gave me strength to breakthrough!

I have new plans to evolve to ver 2.0 to serve community so stay tuned!

Hi guys, I’ve come together to collaborate with Apple who’s just started Soul Supper Society!

We would like to present “*Supper Club for the Soul*” for anyone- who is passionate about spirituality or mindfulness. A gathering of like-minded souls who can come together in a safe space to make new friends, share conversations, ideas, laughter while enjoying vegan artisanal food. We feel that *good ol’ face to face connections and laughter is sometimes best for healing!*

*How this came about*
Apple was telling me how usual supper clubs was hanging out at the bar, chatting about work, social and political affairs or shopping and how she’d prefer that if we could have nice conversations centered around mindful living or art in a “healthier” setting with good energetic food and drinks! And so, we’ve decided to collaborate to present this _not so regular Supper Club-_ *A Supper Club for the Soul!* - with great people like you and amazing vegan food!

*Our intentions?*
We would love for all of us to go home feeling *connected, fulfilled and with a happy gut! And to sleep well!*

SATOYAMA= JAPANESE COUNTRYSIDE LIVING

Satoyama cuisine is all about eating natural, slow foods and enjoying local produce!

“Not a typical workshop”
So in this “workshop”, let’s experience cooking together with like minded people- preparing a few courses of my take on natural, toxic free Satoyama dishes. I feel; the best environment to learning is being hands on together over laughs and stories than a typical sit down classroom setting. I’ve discovered this while traveling in the villages of Japan and Cambodia- where family members and even neighbours gather to cook food for dinner and the kids (and I) learn just by helping out!

What’s gonna happen:
Let’s prepare a Japanese Satoyama feast together over sharing of stories and experiences, health knowledge, past mistakes, new learnings, and our dreams of slow living. Then, we’d all dine together and gush over our food that we’d made with love and I’d be including a bottle of the best sake you’ve ever tried!

You’d not only learn about Japanese coming but also a lot more about yourself, life and making dreams come true!

WHY we r doing this:
I’ve been working hard, going inwards this past moon cycle - meditating, journaling to access my emotions and I’ve realised many of us, me included, have been living disconnected from our “true feelings”. Maybe when it comes to making decisions recently, you’ve found it really hard as you have forgotten what you’d really want to feel in life anymore- the innocent joy and pure drive for living your best life!

We’ve been conditioned to think@to navigate this modern world ‘successfully’, we have to be “practical” and numb our bold feelings. While this strategy may have its benefits, many times it does not serve us on a soul or spiritual level! Why? Cos we believe that life can be more fulfilling and joyful than just being “practical”!

If this is you, come join us as a collective conscious group, as we explore journaling fun yet challenging life questions that can stimulate our senses and access our amazing intuition! Let’s see what happens when we FEEL more than think! My aim for this session is to help us trust and access our intuition more deeply so we can integrate this into our everyday lives.

Using the energy of the full moon; where it tends to build up both light and dark energy within us; this is the time more than ever, it brings to surface what we are frustrated and what we are in love with! This is the time where we can consciously work hard to identify what needs to be released and what we can hold on to learn from so we can start the next new moon cycle with more clarity and a more evolved version of ourselves.

We’d also be holding a mindful vegan dinner section and offering my homemade intuitive healing potion that uses herbs to clear blocked qi in the body and bring flow and clarity!
