Let’s Tap In and explore the idea that: During this pregnancy and as a parent you are bringing the best you can to this season. When it feels like you’re not consider taking a moment to stop , reflect , adjust when needed and rest often. Along with that, this is your journey so take the steps you need but know you don’t have to take it alone.

In the beginning we hear all the encouragement and benefits regarding breastfeeding.

"Any amount of breastmilk she gets is beneficial."

"If you can, breastfeed her until the colostrum is gone."

"If you can just make it those first few months, he would benefit so much."

The encouragement continues UNTIL...

You hit that 1st birthday.

Then all of the encouragement stops and people start asking,

"When are you going to stop breastfeeding her."

"Do plan to pump it and put it in a cup."

"He is just using you as a pacifier."

So, here are some facts about breastmilk AFTER the first year👇🏼

16oz of breasmilk provides:
• 30% of daily calories needed
• Almost half of daily protein
• 20% of daily calcium
• So many vitamins and minerals

There is nothing wrong with continuing to breastfeed your little one past the first year! And if no one else is there to support you, I am here to say,

You are doing an AMAZING job, and I am proud of you🖤

Listen all facts. During postpartum moms are juggling enough and don’t need to also be weighted down with the pressure of “snapping back.”

The postpartum snapback is the worst thing society has pushed on new moms.

The push to snap back to your former self, to your former body, to your former life.

It's unrealistic. It's toxic. It's harmful.

You grew a human life for 9 months inside your body. It has gone through a tremendous and lengthy event.

Give your body time. You don't have to love this new body you have been left with. It's new. It's different. It's sudden.

Care for you body. Feed your body nutritious food. Massage your skin with nourishing oils.. Relax your tired body with healing baths. You may not love the way it looks because it didn't "snapback" quickly. But guess what? Most women's bodies do not bounce back immediately after birth.

You may not feel yourself anymore. You didn't "snapback" to your former feeling and thoughts.

You may be sad and overwhelmed when you thought you'd be happy and in love. Again, you have gone through an exhausting endeavor. Give yourself time. You'll feel like yourself again. Breathe. Take time to care for yourself. Fuel your body. Take a warm bath. Sit in the sun. Ask for help.

Allow your body and mind time to come back to a healthy place. Most people don't "snapback" and that's normal.

You are incredible, beautiful, and loved🖤
