As I finish writing Chapter 40, I set out to do some amazing things. To go international with my folks to compete in the and then I was challenged with running a Marathon. I wanted to do this all before I turned 41, so part one was done earlier this month. The was later this month which I had to switch to do virtual due to time off requests.
I went out Friday afternoon, kissed and told her I'll be back in 4 hours. Got to 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 4 mins, beating my previous half marathon by a few mins (but I also did it without stopping this time).
As I got to Mile 15, the started asking, "Who am I Running for? Whether it be present or no longer here!" I broke down because so many people motivate me to get where I am today. I let out a sigh and wiped the tears from my face, looked up and said let go run with me.
Pace went from a good 10 ½ min miles to 13 min. Body was cramping and tightening. I was walking a little more than I wanted to and my finish time went from 4 to 4½ hrs. Body started getting tighter, water was getting low, I said OK finish time will be around 5 hrs. I kept pushing even tho I wanted to give up around Mile 19-21, I knew I couldn't. It was only me in the way of finishing.
I dug down deep turned all music, background apps, etc cause my phone was now at 5% and I had 1.5 miles left. Jog, speed walk, jog, speed walk, jog and keep going was the last bit of the race. I didn't finish with a big crowd cheering but I did run into my family and that was the most important part!
Here's to what Chapter 41 has in cooking...its gonna be good, I can already taste it!
