I started out by making Trendie Tubies for around my daughters Mic-Key J button to help prevent the constant granulation tissue she was getting along with skin irritation. She loved them because unlike the gauze pads that had to be tapped to her skin causing even more irritation, Trendie Tubies close in place by Velcro leaving no sticky residue and actually improved her tube site. After wearing th
em for a week the skin surrounding her tube looked better than it had ever before and for the first time wasn't bothering her! Even her doctor noticed the difference! Not to mention, for the first time she had something to smile about when she looked down at her feeding tube each day. She enjoyed picking out a fun Trendie Tubie each day to put on. Sometimes it's a challenge to decide which one to wear! Trendie Tubies have improved her life, mood, outlook, and made what could be a discouraging situation fun! Soon her friends started asking about them and then shortly after their friends started asking about them and word spread to more people and thus Trendie Tubies was born! If you have a feeding tube, you need Trendie Tubies! Our Trendie Tubies are made from three layers of fabric sewn together.
-The top layer is flannel with a cute design.
-The middle layer is cotton terry cloth to absorb any moisture an leakage.
-The bottom layer is fleece for a soft comfortable feeling next to the skin preventing irritation and granulation tissue.
-Velcro is sewn on to close them.
