Eat less, move more” is often presented as a complete solution.

In reality, it’s an incomplete framework.

When the body is in a state of excess energy, biological signals like hunger and fatigue make adherence difficult.

Sustainable change requires addressing the system, not just the behavior.

“High protein” doesn’t automactically mean healthy

Protein cookies sound like a win.

But most are just:
ultra-processed
easy to overeat
not very filling

Adding protein doesn’t automatically make something helpful for your blood sugar goals.

The real questions:
Does this actually keep you full?
How does this affect your blood sugar?

Most “healthy” smoothies are desserts

Smoothies feel healthy.

But a lot of them are just:
liquid calories
easy to overconsume
not very filling

Which means…
👉 blood sugar spikes
👉 hunger comes back fast

It’s not that smoothies are “bad.”

It’s that they’re easy to turn into a dessert.

The food system is designed to keep you hungry

Most people think they lack discipline.

They don’t.

They’re operating in a system that’s designed to make them:
hungrier
more distracted
easier to overfeed

It’s not just about willpower.
It’s about the food environment you’re in.

Change the environment…
and everything gets easier.

You don’t struggle with eating blood sugar friendly foods because you lack discipline.

You struggle because your environment is stacked against you.

In episode 45 of the Diabetes Remission Roadmap, we break down five places that quietly sabotage your blood sugar, including one that surprises almost everyone.

From hospitals and airports to office break rooms and youth sports events, modern food environments are designed for convenience, not blood sugar health. The wrong choice is easy. The right choice feels inconvenient.

We’ll explain:
• Why stress makes these places harder to navigate
• How “healthy” snack aisles can mislead you
• Why free food often “costs” the most
• And what to do about it without being extreme

If you’ve ever found yourself somewhere and thought “There is NOTHING good for me here!” this episode is for you.
If one of these locations hits home, send this episode to someone who needs it.
