Tomorrow i will tick off another milestone on my transplant journey.

My final clinic in Oxford (transplant specialist) before being transferred back to Gloucester (my local unit).

This means that I am now stable enough not to be seen by the specialists and I am out of the Danger zone post op. Kidney Transplants are not a cure. I still have Chronic Kidney Disease and I will most likely (hopefully in another 15/20 years or more) end up back in Oxford renal clinic).

But for now. No more leaving the house at 5.30am to drive a 104 mile round trip for a blood test! 💪

I am currently trying to do something active everyday to keep my body fitness journey ticking along! So here is a photo of me pretending I know what I am doing at the driving range.

Just keep swimming (or being grateful everyday!)

This is a little bit cool 🙏💜

Good morning!

Sorry I haven't posted much. Life has been incredibly busy now that I have energy to do things!

💜 Bloods are still pretty stable and I'm incredibly happy with the results I have been getting!

💜 Bought a brand new car! Like brand brand new. A whole 40 miles on the clock when I drove it out the garage!

💜 Back at work, preseason is usually pretty busy for us so I've been face first in spreadsheets for the past little while!

💜 But my biggest news is that I've been shortlisted for a HUGE award at the British Transplant Games! They take place in Oxford this week!! It's a massive honour just to be in the same list as some of the others who have joined me on the shortlist!

I don't feel I should be on that list as all I'm doing is telling you lot what's going on in life and how to just keep swimming.

So um... Just keep swimming (or...smashing every goal that you can to prove that organ donation works)

8 weeks post transplant and I've made it back to the gym!

VERY GENTLE before anybody has a go.
Just a walk on the treadmill and a wee go on the bike.

I feel amazing. I really do! I am so happy with my blood results, working and back exercising (Gently!)

Organ donation works people! ♥️♥️

Just keep swimming (or proving the haters wrong everyday, hehe 🤫🖕)

Well I did it. Not quickly but who cares. I managed to walk twice round the lake (plus a wee lap of the car park to get to 2.5km)

For those who know me I have really struggled with my mobility for a long time. The thought of walking over 1k without my trusty stick, or even being in the wheelchair at times, was totally unimaginable. Dialysis destroyed my fitness levels and I'm so happy to be (slowly) building it back up.

This is the first time I've managed to be "active" for more than 30 minutes without stopping (apart from photo breaks) in almost 3 years.

My leg is really unhappy with me now but I am absolutely buzzing. 🎉☺️

Just keep swimming (or taking it one step at a time, I do recommend being slightly quicker away from the aggressive swans at Newent lake)

Hi all,
This isn't something I normally do. My incredibly mad and brave friend who donated me her kidney in may is running the Great North Run in September (it's a half marathon) in aid of Kidney Research. I would be really grateful if you would help her reach her fundraising goal.

I am so grateful to her for giving me my life back so if you could share and donate if you can we would really appreciate it.

Thank you.
