Suzy Blue, Therapeutic Bodywork Practitioner Self Employed Massage, Fitness and Nutrition have been my three main passions for most of my life.

I have been practicing massage therapy for 9 years now and with each treatment that passes i feel more enthused by the career that i have chosen. The human body is a never ending source of fascination for me and i will never get tired of learning about its complex and subtle workings. The main types of treatments that i practice are Deep tissue massage,Sports massage, Acupressure, Thai Massage and Reflexology. I find that using a combination of the knowledge that i have from these disciplines I can tailor a treatment to suit each individuals needs, These treatments can help to free the body from physical and emotional pain and discomfort.

These are the calf muscles of very active client before and after treatment. As you can see the one on the left is much tighter. It's seeing this kind of difference and the relief that it brings to my clients that brings me so much satisfaction.

Are you finding your self low in energy?

Most of us in this day and age are hugely under resourced. This is the simple result of the imperfect world we find our selves living in. We often find we are needing to give 110% to just fulfil our home, family and work obligations  so is it any wonder we so often find our selves exhausted and lacking the pep we all long for?

How about the next time we notice that low energy instead of reaching for the nearest quick fix and hoping for the best we really take some time to sit back and reassess. Thinking of our energy capacity as a cup is a very useful thought tool. With this mind set we can think about what it is that fills our cup. We all know the non negotiables such as good quality sleep, rest, diet and exercise but what else? What are the things that fill your cup that are unique to you and when was the last time you did them? So I invite you to sit quietly with pen and paper and take some time to write a list of the things that fill your cup.

Maybe it is time to go fly your kite, to book your self a massage or spend some time with that friend and have a good belly laugh.

Luckily for us energy is a renewable resource, we just need to make renewing it a priority

After a couple of weeks now of getting to know our floatation tank. I'm even more in love with it than before. Especially the combination of massage and floatation therapy together.

Clients have been having floatation therapy first, this relaxes the body and mind and warms up the muscles in preparation for the massage.

The muscles also absorb a lot of magnesium from the Epson salts, making them softer and more pliable. I have been finding it so much easier to work with the muscles after the floatation therapy. It's much easier to work out all the kinks and knots.
What a special treatment!

About two years ago, my husband got me a voucher for a float tank session in limrick.
I had no idea at the time that it would be the beginning of this incredible journey.
I found the floatation therapy so beneficial and deeply relaxing that I began to dream of having one here in our retreat space .
I felt that it could really benefit my clients before or after a massage therapy session.
When I heard there was no other floatation tank in clare, I became all the more determined to make it happen. As always, my wonderful husband, Rob , was the wind under my sales and really made it happen. His blood, sweat, and tears have gone into bringing the floatation tank project to fruition.

And so I am proud to present the first flotation tank in clare 🥳🥳🥳.

We have decided to offer ten euro off any treatment when booked with a float as an introductory offer.
That means you can try a Massage, Reflexology or Natural Facelift with a float.
Or of course you can get a floatation tank experience on it's own.

Happy Christmas, everyone!! It's that time of year again. It's time to think of ethical Christmas presents for our family and friends that they will enjoy bonus points if it is actually good for them too 😄. Look no further . . .
What about a voucher to the value of €35 , €60 or €80 euros, which they can use for massage, reflexology, or natural facelift.
Why not tag someone to give them a little hint and you may end up with one in your stocking 😆

As my friends and I have entered our late 30s and beyond it has opened up a new chapter in our journeys of learning to love ourselves and our appearances.
There is so much pressure on women to remain youthful looking and it is becoming more and more common for us to turn to painful medical procedures in order to do this.

I decided to do a course in the Lone Sorensen Japanese Facelift method in order to give people an alternative to this. While I was doing the course and spending time with the other women there, most of whom were in the beauty industry, it really opened up my eyes to the level of insecurity and anxiety these changes can cause women.
We will never be able to be in our twenties again, and, quite frankly, why would we want to?
There are different forms of beauty in each stage of life. However, we are only human and we must admit to wanting to look the best versions of ourselves that we can.

I feel that having a natural facelift is a much more loving and kind way of giving our face..a lift, removing puffiness and fine lines.
It is also super relaxing and people usually fall asleep or into a deep relaxation during the 90 minute treatment. Each session finishes with a mask and foot or hand massage so that you'll feel totally pampered.

Introducing Hidden Gem Retreat a family run three room facility situated 10 minutes from Lahinch and Ennistymon.
We are placed within a very tranquil three acre setting, surrounded by woodland, orchard, flower, fruit and vegetables gardens.

The first two rooms are medium sized, one is suitable for individual therapies or smaller groups and the other contains a pod used for floatation therapy. These rooms are extremely well sound proofed and contribute greatly to the experience.
The third room is a larger brighter space suitable for workshops, classes, events or retreats for small to medium sized groups. Catering also available upon request.

We offer various styles of individual massage therapies with including Japanese Facelift (a deeply relaxing, anti-stress, anti-ageing facial treatment).
We are opening a new floatation therapy room very soon.
A floatation tank is a lightless, soundless soothing pod filled with highly concentrated Epsom salt water heated to skin temperature. Floatation therapy also known as sensory deprivation, is simply the act of floating to aid relaxation; with all sights and sounds removed, allowing you to drift into a meditative state that rejuvenates the mind and body.

Now open for bookings!

Retreat cooking is a totally new thing for me. The last three month of doing it have been an exciting and fun learning experience for me. I had absolutely no plan to cook professionally but it seems to have landed in my plate ( scuse the pun). It feels really good to add another string to our bow here.

We did it! We had our first retreat and it was such a blast. We put in so much hard work over the last few weeks with our paint brushes and digger and recipe books but it all felt so worth it to see the happy participants and hear all the positive feed back. Here is to many more ❤️
