NHS Grampian Public Health In public health, we aim to help everyone in Grampian to stay healthy for longer. Check when your GP practice or pharmacy is open.

To do this, we work with people, communities and partners across Grampian, promoting good health and wellbeing and preventing illness
Posts are monitored Mon โ€“ Fri 9am-5pm. In Public Health, we aim to help everyone in Grampian to stay healthy for longer. To do this, we work with people, communities and partners across the North East of Scotland, promoting good health and wellbeing and preventing illness. We are working to deliver change by tackling issues that are challenging people to stay well. Preventing illness and reducing harms to health are critical in protecting our health and social care services for years to come. Our areas of work include:
-supporting people to manage with the rising cost of living,
-preventing infectious diseases,
-minimising the impact of climate change and the effect on the places we live and
-working with our communities and partners to design health and care services that balance enabling wellness with treating illness

We want to reduce differences in people's experience of health and care so that everyone in Grampian can have good health and wellbeing regardless of where they live. You can find more information about public health and the work we do in our latest Director of Public Health Report, https://www.nhsgrampian.org/your-health/director-of-public-health-annual-report/

Music and dementia ๐ŸŽต

Listening to music and singing are activities that can be enjoyed at home right through to the later stages of dementia.

If the person with dementia finds it hard to communicate during the later stages of dementia you will often find that they can express their emotions through music. Music can also be used to help the person calm down if feeling frustrated.

The person you care for may enjoy a playlist of meaningful music. โ€˜Playlist for Lifeโ€™ will help you put together a music programme. Playlist for Life harnesses the powerful effects of personal music to help anyone who is affected by dementia, their families and carers. Find out more here๐Ÿ‘‰ https://pulse.ly/lgwttyelyc
