FRESH FIN POKE
LOCATION - Downtown Salt Lake City, UT
CONCEPT - Hawaiian Poke
PRICE POINT - $10 - $20
REVIEW - If you enjoy the flavors of Hawaiian Poke with an emphasis on fresh and quality seafood that’s sustainable, I recommend Fresh Fin! A wide variety of proteins (not all seafood with vegan friendly options), sauces, toppings and add ins allows you to be creative with your flavors, or equally chose a pre-designed hand crafted bowl. Counter service and very relaxed atmosphere with indoor and outside seating makes a perfect place for lunch or dinner with the crew all times of the year.
RECOMMENDATION - Curry Coconut Shrimp - choose your base from brown or white rice, shredded kale, quinoa, mixed greens or zucchini noodles, topped with shrimp, carrot, mango, crispy onion, toasted coconut, cilantro and curry aioli.

THREE FOLD NOODLES AND DUMPLING CO.
LOCATION - Downtown Littlr Rock, AK
CONCEPT - Chinese Dumplings & Hand Pulled Noodles
PRICE POINT - $8 - $14
REVIEW - When searching for lunch in Little Rock, I was hesitant to eat noodles and dumplings but the website and pictures drew me in and I went with my gut instinct. And I’m glad I did! Three Folds is excellent, flavorful and fresh. All the noodles and dumplings are clearly made from scratch. A simple menu and counter service makes the experience flowing. Plenty of seating and great for groups.
RECOMMENDATION - Half & Half - Half noodle bowl and half dumpling bowl allows you to have the best of both. The sesame broth and pickled diced vegetables with the noodles completes the taste. I had both with chicken which was shredded with the noodles, and stuffed inside the dumplings however next time I would be inclined to try the pork dumplings. Perfect lunch and portion size that’s not too heavy!

PLANT CITY PROVIDENCE
LOCATION - Downtown Providence, Rhode Island
CONCEPT - Vegan Food Hall
PRICE POINT - $12-20
REVIEW - Take Mario Batali’s Eataly, on a smaller scale but make it Vegan, that’s Plant City. A wonderful selection of different concepts focusing on plant based foods. From a Mexican restaurant, to Italian, to build your own bowl or coffee & pastries, plant city accommodates a variety of flavors. Set by the river, across the street, the marketplace has outdoor seating as well as 2 floors inside with a fresh, inviting atmosphere. Service is excellent, with knowledgeable staff that are patient and full of smiles. Definitely a must if in Providence.
RECOMMENDATION - Having visited twice, I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences building my own bowl of healthy vegetables, grains and house made dressings, as well as the Mexican concept, with a twist to nachos, quesadilla and burrito. With so many options based on so many cuisines, I’ll let you decide!

Sorry it’s been some time since posting about exceptional eats across the globe! However during these tough times I think we all can conclude life has took an abnormal turn. My name is Adam and I’m from England. This is my roommate Carly and she’s from St. Cloud, Minnesota. We are flight attendants based in Minnespolis and currently on leave. HOT CAKES MOLTEN CHOCOLATE CAKERY
LOCATION - Capitol Hill, Seattle
CONCEPT – Dessert Restaurant
PRICE POINT – Average $10 - $12
REVIEW – Hot cakes is a unique cakery specializing in Molten Chocolate cakes. The counter service restaurant boosts a fresh clean organic atmosphere with a huge chalk board above the counter, wooden tables and an array of plants. A wonderful hang out spot after dinner for milkshakes and desserts on a date or with the whole family. The overall rich decadent taste reflects the quality of chocolate and simple recipe. A little more expensive than one would pay elsewhere but a treat worth experiencing.
RECOMMENDATION – S’Mores – smoked chocolate cake, campfire caramel, mallow & graham, vanilla ice cream

THE RUM HOUSE
LOCATION – Garden District, New Orleans
CONCEPT – Caribbean Taqueria
PRICE POINT - $10 - $20 per plate
REVIEW – Suggested by local friends, I visited The Rum House for Sunday brunch. Located in a funky locals area just outside the French quarter, this casual, fun and relaxed beachy style restaurant is perfect for groups of friends or families. With a variety of tropical style tacos and generous portions, be sure to arrive hungry. Great drink specials and an addictive salsa, but can get pretty crowded.
RECOMMENDATION – Lambsbread Taco – Red Curried Lamb, Mint Yogurt Chutney & Sliced Plantains. Chili Glazed Shrimp Taco – Fried Shrimp, Roasted Poblano, Red Pepper Relish and a Rum Chili Glaze.

SHAHI INDIA GRILL
LOCATION – Downtown Omaha
CONCEPT – Indian Restaurant
PRICE POINT – Lunch $8 - $10 / Dinner $11 - $17
REVIEW – Shahi Indian Grill opened only a few months ago in Omaha, however they also have a couple other locations in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Sioux City in Iowa. I went in for Lunch and had the buffet. The food was authentic with a variety of spices and flavors. The buffet was also very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Shahi also uses halal chicken as well as local fresh vegetables and fish. The dinner menu has all the classic recipes and plenty more. The décor appears more upscale than the prices actually reflect, commonly seen in Indian restaurants. Will be sure to try the Lamb Madras next time
RECOMMENDATION – From the lunch buffet I particularly enjoyed the Vegetable Korma, Saag Paneer – Spinach and homemade cheese cooked in a light cream sauce and herbs. The Chicken Tikka Masala & Garlic Naan I loved too. Be sure to not miss the Kheer, similar to rice pudding.

THE MILKSHAKE FACTORY
LOCATION – Downtown Pittsburgh
CONCEPT – Milkshake & Gourmet Chocolate Shop
PRICE POINT – Average $6 a Milkshake
REVIEW – Luxurious, imaginative handmade milkshakes that will satisfy any sugar sweet craving. Sourced from local dairy farms, made in house ice cream and quality ingredients, its definitely worth a visit for a new experience. The store gives a modern feel to an old school soda / milkshake shop. If you do not feel in the mood for a milkshake, try an ice cream sundae, soda float or straight up chocolate bar and truffles.
RECOMMENDATION – THE CHOCOLATIER – Chocolate shake with brownies, hot fudge and chocolate chips, topped with whipped cream and a brownie fudge caramel. CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRY – Strawberry shake with hot fudge and chocolate chips, topped with whipped cream and a chocolate covered strawberry.

MICKLETHWAIT CRAFT MEATS
LOCATION – Rosewood Ave, Austin, TX
CONCEPT - BBQ
PRICE POINT – Average per plate - $16
REVIEW – Having heard so much about Franklin Barbeque and its long lines, I wanted to find somewhere else where the meats were just as flavorful and succulent with a far less time to wait. And that’s how I stumbled across Micklethwait Craft Meats. Less than ½ a mile from Franklin, Micklethwait delivers a variety of top quality, slow roasted meats. Served out of a trailer surrounded with wooden benches, the former baker turned Barbeque chef, Tom Micklethwait has created a menu with brisket and beef ribs that any meat lover cant resist. With a twist on classic barbeque sides including grits, beans and potato salad, be sure to arrive hungry and at a fair price too!
RECOMMENDATIONS – The 2 or 3 meat plates including 2 sides for $14.50/ $16.50 respectively is the way to go! I highly recommend the brisket and shredded lamb. I didn’t get to try the sausages but heard they are unique to Micklethwait. I loved the jalapeño cheese grits. The mac and cheese was average but I heard great things about the lemon poppy slaw and potato salad. The banana pudding is a staple from Tom’s baking career.

REVIEW – Simple Italian dishes made with fresh quality ingredients. Greeted with a modern Italian décor in a relaxed atmosphere, Talia really delivers excellent food. From al dente homemade pasta to slow roasted meats, I loved and savored every bite. I suggest coming for lunch with a friend, relax and unwind during a day of holiday shopping. You will not want to leave.
RECOMMENDATION – Spaghetti with grana Padano & Pink peppercorn. The Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Zuppa with the Daily Focaccia Bread

LOCAL FOODS
LOCATION – Downtown Houston, Texas
CONCEPT – Sandwiches, Salads & Soups
PRICE POINT - $10 - $14
REVIEW – Gourmet Sandwiches, fresh salads and unique soups served in a bright kitchenette modern setting at a reasonable price makes for a perfect lunch. With a few locations around the Houston area, I was introduced to Local Foods a couple years ago. Recently I revisited and was just as satisfied as my first experience. The sides are nutritious and ingredients are fresh. Perfect if you want a healthy lunch after a nice walk around downtown.
RECOMMENDATION – CRUNCHY CHICKEN – Nut and seed crumble, provolone, pickles, buttermilk ranch, tomato, romaine, crushed chips, pretzel bun served with 2 sides. Scalloped potato salad with dill, chives, chopped egg and honey. Quinoa broccoli with shaved carrots, feta and sunflower seeds.
BONUS – Head down 2 blocks to the Brown Bag Deli for a warm chocolate chip cookie. Treat yourself!

WAFFLE CHAMPION
LOCATION – 1 Mile outside Downtown Oklahoma City, OK
CONCEPT – Sweet & Savory Waffles
PRICE POINT – Average $10
REVIEW – A simple concept crafted well enticing all comfort food lovers with a special love for waffles. Whether you like Chicken & waffles or decadent dessert waffles, this place has it all. Choose from a classic buttermilk batter waffle to a Belgian style Liege, both pair well with all the suggestions. I recommend getting here early as this place usually has a line out the door but it’s well worth the wait!
RECOMMENDATION – FLORENTINE – marinated tomatoes, farm egg scramble, garlic spinach n mushrooms with a goats cheese béchamel. Works well with either the classic or the liege. Why stop there when you can pair it with a strawberry milkshake or save room for the raspberries and cream waffle.

PAI
LOCATION – Downtown Toronto, Canada
CONCEPT – Northern Thai Kitchen
PRICE POINT - $8 - $16 Canadian Dollars
REVIEW – With cold nights ahead, Pai is the perfect place for some warm Thai curry and noodles. Hidden underground in a vibrant part of town, Pai is great for lunch and dinner. The menu at Pai is small which makes for each dish to be fresh and flavorful. I recommend giving yourself some extra time as there is usually a line out the door!
RECOMMENDATION – KHAO SOI – fresh egg noodles, golden curry, crispy noodles, cilantro, green onions and braised beef. Also for appetizer KUNG TAWT – Deep fried breaded black tiger shrimp served with sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce.

GATHER KITCHEN
LOCATION – Downtown, Dallas, TX
CONCEPT – Vegan, Gluten Free, Paleo, Dairy Free, Healthy Customizable Bowls
PRICE POINT - $8 - $15
REVIEW – So simple, yet so effective. Gather is great if you have any dietary requirements. Its clean, fresh and healthy with lots of options. I very much liked the infused water bar and the snack station is a great alternative for a sweet treat. A very clean cut, bright and airy atmosphere to dine inside or out. Great for a quick lunch, especially if you’re trying to be good to your body.
RECOMMENDATION – Build your own bowl. With so many choices and unlimited items you can pick, you might as well have it all. I personally liked the red pepper and the coconut curry sauces.

LOCATION – Downtown, Washington, DC
CONCEPT – Farm to Table Restaurant
PRICE POINT – Approx. $13 - $30
REVIEW – An upscale contemporary farm to table restaurant at a reasonable price in a city. The food is of the upmost quality and integrity and presented tastefully. The menu serves a wide range from seafood to homemade pastas, there is something for everyone. Highly recommend a reservation as Founding Farmers is a high volume restaurant at all times of the day. Brunch is equally as good as lunch and dinner.
RECOMMENDATION – Yankee Pot Roast, Hot Crab & Artichoke Dip.

FIVE LOAVES CAFÉ
LOCATION – Downtown Charleston, SC
CONCEPT – Gourmet Sandwiches, Salads & Soups
PRICE POINT – $5 -$12
REVIEW – It’s hard to find a good sandwich, mostly due to the quality of the bread. Five Loaves has wonderful fresh bread filled with healthy local ingredients. I loved the sampler of soups that’s a great addition. The restaurant had a very casual rural, farmhouse like feel that spoke true to its menu. Definitely worth a lunchtime visit!
RECOMMENDATION – Portobello Goats Cheese Burger on Multigrain, baby spinach, tomatoes, sweet basil mayonnaise and onions. Also the butternut squash coconut curry is tasty.
