Sorry but resistance training > pretty much everything 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve got a PhD in nutrition. I LOVE nutrition. I, like many others thought for a long time that nutrition was the most important factor for building muscle & overall health

WRONG

Try to build muscle just with nutrition & let me know how that goes. You can add very modest amounts of lean body mass through nutrition & only by adding body weight typically.

If you’ve never resistance trained you can add muscle & lose fat while doing nothing else. Nutrition can’t do that

And yet, I can’t tell you how many people I see online who want to pick apart every nuance with nutrition but do not even resistance train or exercise. 🤦🏼‍♂️. Stepping over dollars to pick up pennies

I’m not saying they are mutually exclusive. They aren’t. They work best together. But resistance training is amazing for

-Building muscle
-Improving strength
-Preventing sarcopenia
-Decreases cancer risk
-Decreases CVD risk
-Increases bone mineral density
-Decreases risk of several other diseases
-Muscle mass is also a predictor of mortality after age 65, people with more muscle live longer
-May have cognitive benefits

It ain’t just for meatheads and vain people. It’s for overall health too. It’s one of the best, if not the best thing you can do for your health
