✨ New Year, New Habits, New Energy ✨

They say a strong daily routine sets the tone for everything - and we couldn’t agree more at Orchid Rehab. 🌿

Starting the day well means combining key elements that support both body and mind:
🥗 Nourishing food
🤸‍♀️ Movement and exercise
🧠 Mental wellbeing

Have you heard of Habit Stacking?

It’s the idea of linking positive habits together so they become easier, and more powerful, over time. By stacking healthy habits into your morning routine, you create momentum that carries you through the day with confidence and positivity.🌞

This simple approach can make a big difference to your wellbeing, recovery, and long-term independence.

❤️ Drop a heart in the comments if habit stacking works for you - or if you’re planning to try it this year!

As we reach the end of the year, we need to take stock and give ourselves time to relax and make the most of life.

Everyday we are exposed to situations that may make us anxious or stressed. 🧐

So now is a good time to practice regular relaxation techniques to help deal with these stressful situations. When something triggers our anxiety or stress levels, then we can initiate a relaxation response.

Here are five techniques we work on with our clients to help them deal with their stress.

✅ deep breathing

✅ progressive muscle relaxation

✅ mindfulness meditation

✅ guided imagery

✅ yoga or relevant exercise

Relaxation techniques are personal, therefore what works for one person may not work for another. It's important to find the techniques that resonate with you and incorporate them into your daily routine. 🫶

Do you have some relaxation techniques that help you when you get anxious?

Please share your techniques below. We would love to hear from you. 👇💭

🌿What a year it’s been at Orchid Rehab!🌿

2025 has been incredibly busy - here are just a few of the positive outcomes for our clients:

✨ Helping someone walk again more than a year after a traumatic brain injury - and even return to the swimming pool!
✨ Supporting a client to overcome chronic multi-joint pain so they can now walk around their village pain-free and confidently manage their symptoms.
✨ Creating a tailored management programme that empowered someone with a complex condition to get back out, enjoy leisure activities, and reclaim their freedom.
✨ Guiding a client to take their first steps after a stroke - a moment we’ll never forget.
✨ Treating long-standing conditions so clients can socialise again without overwhelming fatigue.

These client stories highlight the fact that early, personalised rehab transforms lives, boosting independence and quality of life every step of the way.💪

If you or a loved one want to begin your own rehab journey, I’d love to help - please get in touch! 💚

Men are notoriously bad at seeking help.🧍

It is always important to encourage men to talk about the issues they're facing and not let them struggle alone, this doesn't have to be only during !🫂

Here’s one inspirational story of a client whose life was transformed by getting help and tackling the issues he was facing through personalised physiotherapy.🙌

Following a stroke, he was told by a consultant that he would be wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life. However, after starting a personalised exercise program, he was able to walk (with support) within 12 months, and he could walk unaided by the end of the second year. He also managed to regain 95% of the use of his left arm.👏

If you are in pain or immobile due to a or , you don’t have to suffer in silence. There is so much that can be done.💪

🧠 Neuro-rehabilitation 🧠

Following a brain injury, or any condition affecting the nervous system, the most important aims are to:

▶️ make your life easier
▶️ give you independence so that you can do the activities that you enjoy

The therapeutic aim is to reconnect old pathways, or create new pathways in the brain, to re-establish the muscle activity to regain movement and promote functional independence. 😊

As a specialist neuro-physio, with over 25 years of physio experience, I provide a fun and dynamic way of helping you achieve this, by getting to know you and building in activities related to your hobbies, passions and desires to support you to achieve your goals. 🎯
