A small tourist hotel was all abuzz about an afternoon wedding where the groom was 95 and the bride was 23.

The groom looked pretty feeble and the feeling was that the wedding night might kill him, because his bride was a healthy, vivacious young woman.

But lo and behold, the next morning, the bride came down the main staircase slowly, step by step, hanging onto the banister for dear life.

She finally managed to get to the counter of the little shop in the hotel. The clerk looked really concerned, "Whatever happened to you, honey? You look like you've been wrestling an alligator!"

The bride groaned, hung on to the counter and managed to speak, "Ohhh God! He told me he'd been saving up for 75 years and I thought he meant his money!!

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.

He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:

"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants s*x, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."

To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too

An Easy Homemade Bread Recipe--Just Five Ingredients!

An Easy Homemade Bread Recipe: A little background

My family is full of really fantastic cooks. My stepmom, my mother-in-law, my sisters--all fantastic. My brother is so fantastic that he makes his living cooking. Me? I am more like fantastically frightful.

My roommate in graduate school had to show me how to cut up an onion. Graduate school--As in, I was 22 years old and paying all of my bills before I ever chopped a vegetable.

Soon after I married Daniel, I tried to make something called "Broccoli Brag," and it was so terrible that I knew I had to get serious about learning how to cook. I did what any young Southern girl would do in my position: I bought a 2-year subscription to Southern Living and made as many recipes as I could.

Although not quite fantastic, I've improved tremendously, and the recipe I'm most proud of is this homemade bread. It's simple--just 5 ingredients, and not as time consuming as you might think. You don't need a bread machine, and you don't need to babysit it.

The total time from start to finish is about 2.5 hours, but the actual hands-on time is only 15-20 minutes. I've made it twice a week for 10 months, around work schedules, toddler schedules, and travel schedules. I got the original idea here and tweaked the recipe over time to use less ingredients and less dishes, a win-win in the Thompson household.

5 Simple Ingredients: (Tips for those like me in italics.)

2 Cups of Warm Water (I boil mine first in the electric kettle and then let it cool off a bit.)
2/3 Cup Honey (Local and Raw if you can get it.)
1 3/4 Tablespoons Active Dry Yeast (I use the kind in the jar and store in the frig.)
1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt
6 Cups Bread Flour

5 Easy Steps:

1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm water and honey until honey is dissolved. Add yeast, and cover with a towel.

2. In about 10-20 minutes, your mixture should look like the picture above. (I would describe it as delightfully frothy.) Mix in your salt, and then add the bread flour one cup at a time. (I use the whisk for the first three cups and then switch to a wooden spoon or silicone spatula for the last three cups. For the very last cup, I don't even stir.)

(Take any rings off between Steps 2 and 3. I learned this the hard way. Keep them on the counter that is farthest away from the garbage disposal. I also learned this the hard way.)

3. Add a little extra flour to your hands and knead the dough, about 5 minutes. (Maybe this will get me in trouble with the baking police, but I knead the dough right in the large mixing bowl. It keeps my counter cleaner.) Place kneaded dough in a large, greased bowl and cover with towel.

$$$$$

4. After an hour, your dough should have risen significantly. (Here comes the best part!) Punch the dough(Don't hold back! Get out all your frustration!) and then knead again for a couple of minutes. Divide into two lightly-greased loaf pans and cover with your towel once more.

5. After allowing the dough to rise for 30 minutes in the loaf pans, bake in a preheated oven at 325 for 30-35 minutes. (For my oven, it's about 33 minutes. A lot of bread recipes use an oven at 350. I find 325 works better for honey.)

Super yummy. Super ingredients. Super easy to make

Foot Burning Sensation
Foot burning sensation is a common problem faced by many people. It could be a major problem for some people and disrupt their normal lives. In this article the causes and treatment of the problem have been highlighted..

Foot burning sensation can be described as a hot and sensitive feeling in the feet. In most cases, it is centered around the foot areas only but there are some rare cases where people complained that it has extended up to the ankles or calves. Research studies have found that women are more prone to this kind of burning sensation in the feet. It is more common in people who are above the age of 50. However, women in the age group of 25 to 45 can also get affected by this problem. When the foot burning feeling becomes severe, then the foot starts stinging and may show up symptoms like pain, inflammation and redness.

Causes

Some of the most commonly found causes are as follows:

Trauma: If the foot gets injured accidentally and results in a fracture of the toes, then one can get a broken foot burning sensation. It can also happen due to a bad sprain, excessive stress on the foot due to overweight, vigorous running with ill fitted shoes and so on.

Nerve Problem: Neuroma is a condition where there is a tissue growth in the surroundings of a nerve in the foot, particularly in the area that lies in between the third and fourth toes. As the tissue irritates the nerve, it gives rise to a burning sensation on the balls of the foot. Tarsal tunnel syndrome is another cause of foot burning and pain and it is experienced when the nerves get compressed when it enters the foot from the ankle.

Athlete's Foot: This is a condition that arises when there is growth of a certain kind of fungi on the feet. It occurs mainly on warm and damp skin surface. Sports persons wear shoes for a long period of time and they sweat a lot. As a result, they are at a higher risk of getting this kind of foot problem. The infected part becomes itchy and scaly and the stinging feeling can be felt in that area only.

Allergic Reaction: This can be symptoms of allergy on the feet. Any type of allergy on the feet is caused mainly due to the shoes and socks that are being used. Some people are allergic towards the dye used in the shoe leather while others may get allergies either because of the fabric of the socks or the detergent used to wash the socks.

Diabetic Neuropathy: As the name suggests, this health problem is found in diabetic patients only. Diabetic neuropathy occur when the nerves of the feet and legs get damaged and is caused by high levels of glucose in blood. Other than the burning sensation one can feel numbness and "pins and needles" sensation in the feet.

Other Causes: Circulatory problems like erythromelalgia affect the blood vessels and result in burning feeling of the feet. It is a symptom of many other underlying health problems like various forms of arthritis, kidney problems, liver problem, etc. In some people this problem could be hereditary and in some others it may develop due to smoking or alcoholism or obesity.

Treatment

When the burning sensation is mild, then resting the foot in a raised position helps a lot. Even soaking the foot in cold water can soothe the burning sensation. However, direct application of ice is not recommended. Foot burning, when accompanied by numbness and leg pain, requires immediate medical intervention. Diagnosis includes physical examination, study of medical history, laboratory tests such as X-ray, MRI, nerve conduction and blood test. For fungal infection, anti fungal ointments are prescribed. Good foot care is also advised in this case which include cleaning of feet, frequent change of shoes and use of cotton socks. If it is caused due to some serious disease, then treatment of the disease will help to get rid of the problem. Diabetic patients should do some exercises regularly to keep the problem in check. They can get some relief from the burning sensation by massaging the feet.

Do not delay the treatment when you are suffering from foot burning sensation for a long period of time as it can have serious health consequences. Along with the treatment, you have to bring about some changes in your diet and lifestyle too. Eat plenty of fruits that are rich in vitamin C. Those who smoke should quit smoking. Intake of alcohol should be minimized. Try to give your feet rest as much as possible.

Can an infected person infect other people?
In what parts of the world have people become infected with this parasite?
Have cases of this infection occurred in the United States?

Does infection with this parasite need to be treated?
How can I keep from getting infected with this parasite?
What is Angiostrongylus cantonensis?
Angiostrongylus cantonensis is a parasitic worm of rats. It is also called the rat lungworm. The adult form of the parasite is found only in rodents. Infected rats pass larvae of the parasite in their f***s. Snails and slugs get infected by ingesting the larvae. These larvae mature in snails and slugs but do not become adult worms. The life cycle is completed when rats eat infected snails or slugs and the larvae further mature to become adult worms.
Can people get infected with this parasite?
Yes. People can get infected, under unusual circumstances. However, even if infected, most people recover fully without treatment.
How can people get infected?
People can get infected by eating raw or undercooked snails or slugs that are infected with this parasite. In some cultures, snails are commonly eaten. Some children, in particular, have gotten infected by swallowing snails/slugs "on a dare. " People also can get infected by accident, by eating raw produce (such as lettuce) that contains a small snail or slug or part of one.
Certain animals such freshwater shrimp, crabs, or frogs, have been found to be infected with larvae of the parasite. It is possible that eating undercooked or raw animals that are infected could result in people becoming infected, though the evidence for this is not as clear as for eating infected snails and slugs. Of note, fish do not spread this parasite.
Can an infected person infect other people?
No.
In what parts of the world have people become infected with this parasite?
In many parts, but most of the known cases of infection have been in parts of Asia and the Pacific Islands. Some have been in other areas of the world, such as in the Caribbean and Africa.
Have cases of this infection occurred in the United States?
Yes. Cases have occurred in Hawaii (and other Pacific Islands). Very few cases have been reported in the continental United States. In 1993, a boy in New Orleans got infected by swallowing a raw snail "on a dare. " The type of snail he swallowed isn't known. He became ill a few weeks later, with muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, a slight fever, and vomiting. His symptoms went away in about 2 weeks, without treatment of the infection.
Can giant African land snails be infected with this parasite?
Yes. This type of snail, which can grow larger than a person's hand, is just one of many types that can be infected. But snails can be infected only if they have ingested contaminated rat f***s. We don't know if any of the giant African land snails in the continental United States are infected.
What are the signs and symptoms of infection with this parasite?
Some infected people don't have any symptoms -- or have only mild symptoms that don't last very long. Sometimes the infection causes a rare type of meningitis (eosinophilic meningitis). The symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, tingling or painful feelings in the skin, low-grade fever, nausea, and vomiting.
What should I do if I think I might be infected with this parasite?
You should see your health care provider, who will examine you and ask about any symptoms, travel, and exposures you've had (for example, to snails/slugs). You might have some blood tests, as well as tests for meningitis.
Does infection with this parasite need to be treated?
Usually not. The parasite dies over time, even without treatment. Even people who develop eosinophilic meningitis usually don't need antibiotics. Sometimes the symptoms of the infection last for several weeks or months, while the body's immune system responds to the dying parasites. The most common types of treatment are for the symptoms of the infection, such as pain medication for headache or medications to reduce the body’s reaction to the parasite, rather than for the infection itself. Patients with severe cases of meningitis may benefit from some other types of treatment.
How can I keep from getting infected with this parasite?
Don't eat raw or undercooked snails or slugs, frogs or shrimp/prawns. If you handle snails or slugs, wear gloves and wash your hands. Always remember to thoroughly wash fresh produce. When travelling in areas where the parasite is common, avoid eating uncooked vegetables.

This information is not meant to be used for self-diagnosis or as a substitute for consultation with a health care provider. If you have any questions about the parasites described above or think that you may have a parasitic infection, consult a health care provider.

Expert: Eye-hand coordination is best in late afternoon
1:00-2:30 p.m. is best nap time because of body temperature dip
Make doctor's appointment first thing in morning to avoid waits

(RealSimple.com) -- Use your body's natural rhythms -- and a few tips from the experts -- to find the best time of day to work out, see a doctor, go to the post office, and more.

Best time of day to clean the house -- 4 p.m.

You're more likely to whistle while you window wash (and not kick over the bucket) if you do it in the late afternoon. That's when hand-eye coordination is at its peak and mood levels are high, says Michael Smolensky, a professor of environmental physiology at the University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston and author of "The Body Clock Guide to Better Health."

If anyone in the house has allergies or asthma, avoid insomnia-hour and morning cleaning sprees (nasal-allergy symptoms are most severe between 6 a.m. and noon, asthma attacks more likely between midnight and 6 a.m.), and finish well before that person walks in the door.

"It takes about an hour for allergens and dust to settle after you clean," says Martha White, M.D., director of research at the Institute for Asthma and Allergy, in Wheaton, Maryland.

Best time of day to take a nap -- 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Doctors used to think afternoon sleepiness was the result of a big lunch. "But we've found that in the early afternoon there's a dip in body temperature, which causes sleepiness," says Smolensky.

Just as a similar decrease encourages you to shut down at bedtime, this midday dip can make you crave a siesta. An ideal nap, he says, should last 15 to 20 minutes. More than 30 and you may end up with sleep inertia -- and feel even more groggy when the nap's over.

Richard Schwab, M.D., codirector of the University of Pennsylvania Penn Sleep Center, in Philadelphia, says that early afternoon is indeed when your circadian rhythms (the pattern of physical and mental changes we each repeat every 24 hours) are "more likely to want your body to sleep." But Schwab insists that if we weren't all so sleep-deprived, we wouldn't need naps in the first place.

Best time of day to go to the doctor -- 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., or 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

You'll spend less time in the waiting room if you book the first appointment of the morning or the first after lunch, says Patricia Carroll, R.N., author of "What Nurses Know and Doctors Don't Have Time to Tell You." "Doctors start fresh in the morning and catch up when the office is 'closed' for lunch." Many lab tests require fasting, so a morning appointment will help you avoid being hungry half the day.

If you're seeing a doctor who performs surgery (orthopedist, gynecologist), ask that your appointment not follow her operating time -- a recipe for serious delays, says Carroll.

Pediatricians' and family-practice offices can get mobbed when work and school let out (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.). And if you leave with a prescription to be filled, try to visit the pharmacy before 3 p.m. on weekdays, when it's least busy -- "which also reduces the risk of error," says Carroll.
