WAFT aims to collect samples from portaloos and urinals at the end of festivals and analyse them for illicit drugs.
Permission to conduct this study is always obtained from event organisers and sanitation companies beforehand.
Results of this study cannot be traced back to individuals or the festival from which they were taken.
Results may be published in peer reviewed journals and presented at relevant forums.
This study is being run by Dr Jonathan Brett, Addiction Specialist and Clinical Pharmacologist, University of Sydney.
This project has been approved by University of Sydney Human Research Ethics Committee [HREC NUMBER].
