How long do the effects of tapping last? ⤵🕵

Most EFT research trials worldwide include 6–12 month follow-ups.

Here in Australia, we’ve completed the first 2-year follow-up. When researchers asked participants at these follow-up points, the findings showed that treatment effects not only lasted, but continued to improve over time.

For example, in the food cravings and weight-loss trial, participants reported that two years later they couldn’t even remember which foods they had tapped on. This suggests a neurological shift, with new neural pathways forming after tapping.

The impacts of tapping do last.

That said, outcomes are always individual. Once you start tapping, keeping a journal can help you track what you’ve tapped on and notice changes over time.

We all make promises to ourselves we don’t keep — no matter how genuine or exciting they feel at the time.

So many people set goals they know would support them, only to fall off track and into self-doubt.

This doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.
It means your nervous system hasn’t been supported yet.

Over 28 days, join myself and leaders in psychology and habit science to create real, sustainable change, starting at the root.

We’ll work with the nervous system to gently reduce the unconscious patterns that keep pulling you back, so change doesn’t rely on willpower alone.

✨ If you’re ready to approach your goals differently this year,
you’re invited.

Did you know the second Friday of
January is called Quitter’s Day?

It’s the point where most people abandon their New
Year’s goals.
You're not lazy, your old patterns are kicking in.

I see it all the time.
That little voice appears:

“I always fail.”
“I won’t stick to this.”
“What’s the point?”

That voice isn’t lack of discipline, it’s unresolved
emotional stress in the nervous system.

It's easy to set goals, but sustaining them can be
blocked by unconscious processing.

That’s why I’m taking part in a 28-day mindset
challenge, bringing together leading experts and
evidence-based tools like EFT, psychology, and habit
science to support real, sustainable change.

This is about working with your nervous system so
your goals actually stick. Lets clear what’s blocking
them.

✨ If you’re ready to do things differently this year,
you’re invited.

✨ Why do we say the “negative” while tapping? ✨

Unlike many talk therapies that encourage us to immediately reframe how we’re feeling, tapping (EFT) invites us to honestly acknowledge the emotion that’s present right now.

When we name what’s actually arising—stress, fear, sadness, overwhelm—we create the conditions for change. The reframing doesn’t have to be forced… it naturally unfolds through the tapping process itself.

Most people turn to tapping when they’re experiencing distress, which is why those so-called “negative” emotions often come up.

💡 Remember: it’s not about being negative — it’s about being truthful.

Research shows that tapping helps reduce activity in the amygdala, the brain’s stress centre, allowing emotional intensity to settle and the nervous system to return to balance.

When the body feels safe, the mind can shift.

This week the EFT world received news of the passing of Gary Craig. He was a Stanford engineering graduate, but changed the therapy world forever in 1995 when he created EFT. In July last year I had the rare opportunity to have a zoom call with Gary about all things EFT-research. He was curious about what my research work had explored and achieved and I shared with him that I actually did his training in the beginning, and still had the CDs! He laughed. He then quizzed me on the type of EFT we applied in our research trials and after I said Clinical EFT (i.e. from his manual), he made me demonstrate it on screen! I am relieved to say I passed the test 😆 He was clearly passionate about EFT and dedicated to the healing of others.

I will remember Gary and spend some time this week reflecting on how EFT has changed my life. I hope you may be able as well.

✨✨✨✨HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ✨✨✨✨

As we step into this new year, I want to remind you that meaningful change doesn’t come from pressure or perfection, it comes from understanding how our minds and bodies actually respond to stress, emotion, and habit.

This year, I invite you to approach your goals with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based tools that support lasting change.

When we work with the nervous system rather than against it, transformation becomes both achievable and sustainable.

I look forward to continuing to share research, insights, and practical strategies with you throughout the year.

Here’s to a year of growth, resilience, and wellbeing.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) continues to demonstrate robust, measurable outcomes across mental and emotional health.

Across the literature we see:
✔️ Statistically significant reductions in anxiety and depression
