Today is World Mental Health Day. And I think it’s an important reminder for us, because infertility and loss don’t just take a toll on our bodies—they take a toll on our minds and hearts too.
We don’t talk about it enough, but this journey can leave scars no one else can see. The constant anxiety of waiting for results. The sleepless nights wondering if your body is broken. The depression that quietly creeps in after yet another failed cycle. The trauma of losses that never fully leave you. It’s real. And it’s heavy.
Friend, your mental health matters here too. You’re not “too weak” if you feel like you can’t keep it together. You’re not “less faithful” if you wrestle with depression or panic. You’re not “broken” for needing counseling, medication, or community support. You’re human. You’re grieving. And you’re carrying something most people will never understand.
On a day like today, I just want to whisper this to you: Please don’t neglect your mind while fighting for your miracle. You can pray AND go to therapy. You can trust God AND take medicine. You can believe in His promises AND acknowledge that your heart is weary and your mind feels fragile.
God cares about every part of you—including your mental health. He is close to the brokenhearted, not just the physically broken. And He has given us resources, people, and tools to help carry the weight we can’t carry alone.
So, if today finds you in the middle of the fog—struggling to smile, fighting off the lies in your mind, or just exhausted by the mental load infertility carries—know this: you are not alone. Your mental health matters. Your pain is real. And there is help, hope, and healing for you too.
Take care of your heart. Take care of your mind. The same God who knit you together cares about keeping you whole.
