On my own journey with grief, I’ve found it really useful to understand the stages I’m traveling through, and to pin point where I am on the journey. Experiencing loss can be incredibly disorientating. Suddenly you find yourself in a different world to the one you knew before. It can take all you have to stay afloat. Sometimes no matter your coping strategies, you are pulled down into the depths. One of the ways to reorient yourself is to label where you are in your own grief journey. For myself, I have found the journey through the depression stage of grief to acceptance the hardest to navigate. And yet even in those moments of despair it was useful to remind myself that this profound dark night of the soul was actually useful, it was serving a purpose. The band-aid of denial (which also served a purpose at the time) was being ripped off and my wounds needed air to heal. I was terrified and yet I was exactly where I needed to be to move forwards.

Thank you for sharing this great graphic of the grief cycle 😍

Thank you 💞 People will always have an opinion about how you ‘should’ live your life. (Like them obvs! 🤪😂) However if you buy into the ‘should’s’ they become a type of suffocating prison. Time to be curious and courageous. Clear out the ‘should’s’ that belong to other people, and concentrate on forging your own path forwards 🙌 💞 What really matters to you, deep down? What could a meaningful life look like? What inner nudges are you receiving? You don’t need to know all the answers all at once. It’s something useful to consider. Take it one step at a time. There is only one you in this world, and we need you 😍

Thank you 🤗 It can be too easy to dismiss our less popular feelings into the categories of either ‘positive’ and ‘negative’. And the negative, we may prefer to push through or bottle up, even if this doesn’t serve us. Anxiety isn’t very popular. And yet it can be a wonderful signpost directing you to what you really want or need. Is it a reminder to take some time out? To keep making space for your self care routine or to make that appointment that you’ve been putting off? I recommend being curious, courageous and compassionate as you explore your inner world 💛😍✨✨✨✨

What are your feelings trying to tell you? Thank you for this beautiful artwork ✨ See your feelings as interesting data and be curious and compassionate when listening for the message. I tend to listen through journaling as writing my feelings helps me to stay with them long enough to hear their wisdom. Talking to understanding friends, mentors, therapists and coaches helps tremendously too. ❤️

Thank you for this great graphic! This is emotional resilience right here ❤️ As human beings it’s normal for us to experience emotions. The key is how we relate and respond to our inner world. Have you noticed yourself trying to push down certain emotions? Do you bottle things up? Or perhaps you dwell on situations for long periods of time, going over and over scenarios in your mind? Being emotionally resilient means instead of dwelling, or making yourself ‘wrong’ for experiencing all kinds of feelings (eg, you don’t need to be positive 24/7) you do something different 👉 You pause, and approach your emotional landscape with compassion, with curiosity and with courage. Emotions give us important information, if we are willing to pause with them, listen in a friendly companionable way and ask, “What are you teaching me emotion (sadness/anger/grief/rage, happiness/exhaustion/joy/fear/resentment/jealousy...etc) that’s, useful, important or positive for me?” Start to journal the answers. I’d say for 20mins -30mins each day. You’ll find that you will become less reactive and be able to respond and take action in a way that aligns with your true values. 🌟
