Army of Healers — Reflections from Our Facilitators Training Workshop and a Chance to Support This Growing Community
As we prepared for our three-day workshop, I kept hearing every variation of: “I don’t think I can make it.”
Late arrivals, early departures, impossible schedules, family emergencies… Real life tugging everyone in different directions.
And still - 29 people showed up.
Despite everything happening around and inside us, we didn’t just arrive.
We connected.
People cried, laughed, softened, and opened their hearts.
They shared stories of terror and checkpoints, kidnapping, disrupted olive harvests, unbearable loss, harsh realities in Gaza, and the long winding paths each of us has walked.
Stories about fear, identity, resilience and hope.
Our facilitators practiced tools from movement therapy, storytelling, IFS, Playback Theater, Forum Theater and more.
Practices that help transform pain, deepen compassion, and make room for the story of the “other.”
And somehow, in the midst of all this chaos, something real, tender, and rare emerged between us. People who arrived carrying fear, grief, rage, and exhaustion… left with softness, clarity, connection and joy.
Some have already opened groups. Others will begin soon.
Now in our third year, with more than 400 past participants, our work continues to grow.
This is what the Army of Healers is building -
one group, one story, one act of courage at a time.
A space for feeling, healing, and human connection.
If you want to help this work continue…
To train more facilitators.
To open more mixed groups.
To bring trauma-healing practices into communities shattered by violence and deep mistrust.
Your support truly matters.
Every contribution helps fund scholarships, training, safe-group spaces, and ongoing accompaniment for communities in need.
